While watching this I asked myself what Avedon would have done with Caitlyn Jenner. I suppose his photograph would have been much more honest than the one Annie took.

It is not clear to me why we have to be force fed the opinions of artists unrelated to their art. Can’t we just just appreciate their mastery of their art? I love Annie Leibovitz for her creative capture of powerful and beautiful images, her story of passion and discipline, and teaching on the art of photography. I don’t let her in to hear about social issues any more than I want to hear an NFL linebacker’s view on politics.

Her pictures are a reminder that famous people are also just regular people. That takes a tremendous skill - confidence. To be able to connect with large egos and dismantle them, translate that into a single iconic image. Its difficult to get a good photo of some of our closest friends and family. So you can imagine how it is to do that with a celebrity, under a huge amount of stress and on deadlines.

@@soulglasstv Nonsense. When these people are forgotten, her pictures will be too. Unlike real artists whose pictures stand the test of time with anonymous subjects.

@@canturgan we choose what to forget and we choose what to remember. So to each their own. I don't know why it upsets you that she lives her life her way. Does it get in the way of your life in any way?
