Highly recommend getting some tyre puncture repair kits. I like the sausage and needle style kind. Here in Australia, they have saved me multiple times while driving offroad for long distances. The good kits come with glue and patch's also.

Yes, I can contest that here in Alaska they will save your ass.

Yes, I noticed the absence of a tire plug kit. Cheap, and very good to have. Also, why not save money, and rotate the more aggressively treaded wheels/tires to the front (the drive wheels)? The tread pattern on the rear of a FWD van is not important.

He mentioned early in the video that he was planning on getting a plug kit.

My Canadian husband and I have been watching your videos for 6 months now. We have sold the house and will be hitting the road ourselves. Perhaps when you are cooking in wilderness settings you consider exercising some bear safety when you have the doors open on your van. Have a great trip!

In reference to your Starlink setup, mount to to the roof of your can by using super magnets. Mount the Starlink panel flat on the roof. By using magnets for mounting you have the ability to remove the panel if you have to park your van in a bad area for any extended amount of time. (No it won’t come loose by driving down bumpy roads.

You need to make sure you cover your face when in Alaska because the mosquitos are aggressive and the horse flies are blood suckers. I just don't know why there are so many flying bugs when the temps can fall 40 below zero in the winter.

Those vans are surprisingly capable for just being fwd. i drove a 2018 promaster 3500ext. I regularly delivered to rail yards in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota. Signs clearly stated only 4x4 pickups allowed on the mud and gravel roads to their main repair buildings. I had cooper all terrains on the front tires, I’d just keep my speed 15-20mph and never had an issue. I go to off-road parks and own lifted jeeps so I know off-road. Even delivering to farms in Iowa with mud and gravel roads requiring high clearance vehicles, i was just careful on the paths and never had an issue.

Lake Louise can be tourist hell in peak season so count yourself lucky that you found a parking spot. We were there late last summer and decided just to spend the extra $$ just to stay in the hotel that is on the lake, which was a reasonably nice place. We did the popular like up to the Tea House and it was one of the busiest hiking trails I have ever been on.

Technology is so dope, love the idea that you can be in an area so remote that you get no cell reception for hours while you're driving but can pull over set up starlink and be 100% connected with solid speeds, enough to game, upload, imessage, facetime all of that. I saw a guy put one on his boat and cruised out dropped anchor and was connected. It'll be nice when they can get it down pat so well that you can be constantly moving and still be connected. Not that you'd really need it yourself but if you have a mini yacht and are traveling to like hawaii from LA you can be kicked back playing COD to pass the time lol

Great video Ryan! I passed you yesterday at Dawson Creek. I just finished the Alaskan Hwy. Another part of the drive that’s outstanding is from Fort Nelson up to the Liard River Hot Springs Provincial Park. You will go by Muncho Lake which is an awesome colour. The big mountains and big valleys are spectacular. Make sure you stop in Canadian Tire store in Whitehorse. They have everything you need for your trip. Tire repair kits and make sure you get an electronic bug zapper. Like a tennis racquet that zaps the bugs. They will find a way in your van. Enjoy!!!

You'd be amazed by how much the landscape varies across Canada. Perhaps one day you can visit our entire country, and do a trip, from say, New Brunswick to Vancouver, BC. In NB/Quebec it's quite wild, lots of rock, and then in S. Ontario it changes again, and if you visit Toronto and Ottawa, you'll see great, clean cities. The prairies (Manitoba and Sask), suck, they're just flat farmland, but as you see that changes in Alberta. BC is very beautiful, so it's something to consider, to drive across Canada. You could even see the Maritimes, I think they have ferries to transport the van.

the power of positivity! love the message. I liked that you didnt panic and settle for the hours of waiting for that road to re-open. Glad you had the presence of mind to find that alternate route by simply asking about possible detours. this journey through Alberta is nice. I recall my own trip back in 90s when i was young. We took the US I-5 along the westcoast up to Surrey, BC then traveled to Edmonton from there. That was a nice drive. there were lakes and mountains too. But there was this rest area with an amazing view. Felt like cascading visuals from a lake, forest, and mountains. Thanks for bring back them memories of mine. it just brings me back...
