I hope that everything is well Matthew. I always found Edmonton to be scary to drive in, getting lost was always a constant thing. I would always seemed to go when it was a blizzard so driving was not favourable. When the weather is nice from Calgary to Edmonton, it’s a breeze to drive. Great video Matthew. Here in the states the only jewelry you can keep on is wedding rings. They put sterile tape over them. They may have changed that.

We prefer no jewelry in surgery. Swelling in fingers is a real potential, I got really good at removing unremovable rings over my surgical career. 😊

They won't let you in the OR here with any type of jewlery on doesn't matter the material they're made of. Thr potential for bacteria to be under them or on them is .0000001% but it still gets removed.

Odds are you've already been and gone from the surgery by this point, but who knows! When I was in hospital for day surgery they had lockers, and during extended stays it wasn't a big deal to have more things with you in the rooms. Bit more security there. :)

Happy Birthday.... I'm sorry you spent it in that situation. When I had a very similar surgery..I at least got the good meds as well as my room with a TV & a fridge with decent food.
