Astoria is a lovely, historical, architectural, photo-op town. You did so well with the drone footage and thank you for the scenic views from the tower, awe inspiring. I had a brief thought of Jimmy Stewart in "Vertigo" as you were going up/down the stairs as I, too, have height issues! Good for you to "walk thru your fear" and go to the top, proud of you, Brian.

Marie Taylor Amazingly enough KZbin still considers thumbs down channel interaction. The thumbs down can often be to keep liked videos from your suggested list.(ie: non subscribers) Not always a negative. It's the zero 👍👎 against the number of views that effect the channels biorhythm. (sorry B I always watch more than once) I always 👍before I watch Brian's videos :) ✌

If you're still around Astoria, consider checking out the Maritime Museum downtown. It's a little expensive, but very interesting. I had no idea how difficult the Columbia bar (the confluence of the Columbia river and the ocean) was to navigate, even for the larger vessels. If you don't make the museum, at least google and read about it. They call it the "graveyard of the Pacific", and if you end up at the south lighthouse at Cape Disappointment as you head north, you can see the north and south jettys, which makes up the bar.

I just started full timing a few months ago and I do the same thing each morning -- walking outside and soaking in the view. Curious though why you leave your trash outside overnight? I'd be concerned about attracting bears, or at least raccoons that would leave a huge mess.
@michaelrees55637 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing
@janrantoo22137 жыл бұрын
HOBOTECH actually, if bears smell your trash/food IN your rig, they will tear your doors off to get to it. Also, they learn to recognise that a cooler contains food so keep it and all food out of site. When in campgrounds with bear boxes, utilize them.

Brian, I have been following your adventure for some time now and Have always come away with renewed joy. I really enjoy the flute, it is certainly soothing. I air brush and have constructed air storage tanks from pvc pipe. The idea came to me while doing a plumbing project and noticing that the pipe was rated for two hundred and fifteen pounds pressure. This led me to plumb an entire eighty foot truck garage air system with pvc. I have since constructed several air storage tanks using six inch pvc pipe. I buy the heavy end caps and drill and tap them for fittings. I have hung them in the overhead to conserve space and since have mounted them under my truck using heavy duty wire ties. I have never had a failure If you were to mount a long tank behind your shower water tank you could have a monster air storage capability. Having a smaller tank , a one way check valve and well thought out plumbing you would have air for fifteen showers before filling the large tank. This set up would also allow you to fill the water tank to capacity as air pressure will be added by the small tank. I have a strange mind and tend to visualize these things but I at challenged when it comes time to make someone else see my vision. If this project is of any interest to you I could be bribed to draw it out. The benefit of having air on board would be awesome. If you fill the large tank at truck stops where they have more air and at a greater pressure, you could have one hundred fifty pounds up there. Fix a tire flat and inflate it quickly. Air powered water pump? Ideas are endless. I'll be watching to see if any of this works for you. God Bless and stay safe,

A minor correction - US Highway 101 comes into Astoria from the south, then goes across the Columbia River on the long bridge you can see at 6:08 or 9:03 run time. The road that continues through town (at the bridge) and then east along the river is State Hwy. 30.
