Thank you Steve, we really enjoyed Istanbul. It was even crazier there than we imagined 😂 can’t beat the prices though, it’s so cheap to eat out it’s unbelievable! I think we will leave Turkey twice the size we come in at 😂

Great job finding the parkup in Istanbul guys !! Some real bargains to be had in the markets there but you have to be confident and hold your ground with the sales guys and always be willing to walk away if price isn't right. As always stay safe and keep smiling !! Catch you on the flipside.

Thank you for the advice Stu, we wasn’t overly prepared for it at first but soon learned you have to be a little bit firm 😅 What an experience though! We absolutely loved it there and will return on the way back out when it’s a bit cooler so we can spend a bit more time there. Some right bargains to be had 😃 Thank you Stu, see you next week 😃

Hello , We came into Turkey 7 weeks ago and headed down the west coast to the med where we meet up with family at Kalkan and Kas. The med coast was much more touristy and the campsites very expensive for Turkey. It is very very hot down there so we headed inland to the mountains behind Antayla and are now experiencing the real Turkey, quarter of the price of the med and very friendly people although noone speaks any english. We are heading gradually to the black sea coast, we think. We have not met heardly any foreign vans just turkish and two germans, no english at all. So maybe if your coming our way we can meet up for a night who knows. We dont blog but have purchased a turkish sim card so are on the internet which has been very good. We have enjoyed your vlogs very much and love your great family Good journeys

Hello Martin, We are the same, we haven’t seen any English vans yet, a lot of Turkish vans and it’s good to see how popular camping is for the Turkish people. It’s great. We are working our way along the Black Sea coast and it’s been brilliant, temperatures are up to low 30s so manageable, very cheap and not overly touristy. To be honest we haven’t spent much time on the actual coast, it’s more slightly inland. We have met a lot of locals, a majority don’t speak much English but we still manage to communicate. Once we reach Georgia we will be heading inland and work our way south. We have fallen in love with Turkey already and I’m glad to hear you have been enjoying it as well. Let us know if you do decide to head to the Black Sea and hopefully we may cross paths. Thank you 😃

I'll be doing this border crossing to Georgia in 3 weeks, not looking forward to it but great to know that I should bring euros with me. Did you guys also have an international driver's permit?
@stevehapp2 жыл бұрын
Did you go thru derekloy border ? Headed that way soonish. Thanks for tips.
@KevintheCamper2 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, sorry for the late reply. Yes we did go through that border, our biggest advice would be to make sure you have cash in you, preferably Turkish lira. It’s the only border we have needed cash but apart from that, it’s the same as most other borders. Hope that helps
