Man I just wanna say how much I respect and appreciate the fact that you actually pay attention to the lyrics and give them the attention they deserve. Khmer (Cambodian) culture and music is so rich and fascinating, especially considering all the horrors and tragedies they've endured as a people. They took Sinn Sisamouth, Pen Ran, Ros Sereysothea etc from the world, but they didn't take Master Kong Nay or the musical spirit of the Cambodian people. Their memory and legacy will always live on. The Khmer people will ALWAYS persevere, and they have my eternal respect.

If I may, let me drop a lil 411 on Master Kong Nay. He is 77 years old & a blind Cambodian music legend from way back before the wars & genocide. They killed off almost every wealthy, educated & intelligent Khmers including famous Khmers in the entertainment industry. If you so much as to wear or own reading glasses… yo ass was killed, straight up. They kept all the really poor & uneducated folk alive to work the farms & do hard labor. They were treated as slaves. The children were trained to be soldiers, many forced to kill their own parents & family members. Many escaped & those who were lucky went into hiding or were on the run to nearby refugee camps in neighboring countries. The fact that we still have Master Kong Nay is a true blessing. We are so fortunate to still have him alive & well to tell the stories through his music… which is where the “testify” part comes into this. He is a true legend, one of the last few surviving members of our great past before things went dark in our country. Cambodians from around the world honor him. We love & respect him. He is the true OG of classic Cambodian music. 🇰🇭
