Here is my story on how I discovered Vanny. About a year or so ago, I was scrolling through KZbin listening to new versions of "You Raise Me Up" (one of my favorite songs). Initially I scrolled past Vanny, but eventually came back and listened. I was shocked at what I heard. Over the next few weeks, I came back and listened several more times just to confirm that my original impression was correct. Vanny's version became my favorite of all versions of that song. She was the first artist I ever heard that perfectly combined all of my favorite optional aspects of that song. Eventually, I listened to other Vanny covers and Vanny very quickly became my favorite singer of all time. She can somehow convey an emotional connection to a song that I can feel, but can not explain.
