You can clamp (I've even used tape) a straightedge to the plywood for the jig saw base to slide against and get very straight cuts. A sanding block with coarse then finer sandpaper will allow truing up the edges of the ply to the wood frame after assembly.

Hi Ian. In the UK we have Wickes diy. If you buy ply sheets from them they cut them for you on a machine. Two cuts are free then a small charge for extra cuts. The board is easier to carry home once cut. I have some Parkside wagons which I have not built yet. If you are struggling with the build, then I certainly will. Good luck.

Yes. That was the case with the larger DIY stores over here for a while. There were large saws in the lumber department for an assistant to do the job for you. But those disappeared. Perhaps no-one used the service or perhaps people decided that it was too much of a liability to have such equipment on the shop floor.
