Lot of people criticising Kirk, yeah, I'd agree that his lead guitar playing has been poor for a while now, he did give us some good solos in the early days, but now way too much wah, phrasing and note choice uninspiring....but don't forget he goes stroke for stroke with James as a rhythm guitarist every night. He's still a good metal guitarist, even if his best leads are behind him.

//At 1:25, Kirk recounts the 'Monsters of Rock' tour. Kingdom Come, Dokken, Metallica, Scorpions, and Van Halen. This was summer 1988. I saw them in Alpine Valley Wisconsin. By far, they stole the show. I'll never forget the scene when they played Creeping Death; absolute mayhem!!! Crowd went into a FRENZY! Sod flying, lawn chairs, inflatable doll.... From that moment on, as a 19 year old, I've never seen a band get a frenzy like that EVER. By the way, they took the stage in the afternoon. What a memory. Kirk is way cool!!!

I was there at the MoR @ the LA coliseum! I thought it was creeping death they were playing their first song when all mayhem broke loose! After the chairs were out of the way, everyone got the chance to move up closer to the stage. Metallica by far dominated the show!
