I had an argument on Instagram over how much burlier the old school riders were doing big air. The guy laughed at me saying how much better the new riders were. So I think this video proves me right. There’s plenty of footage from the 80s showing DMC going higher then these guys on A 8 FOOT QUARTER PIPE! I said the talent required to get over 13 feet of air on that small of a ramp exceeds the guys that currently ride. Not saying the tricks they do aren’t more advanced …. Just the balls to get over 13 feet of air on an 8 foot ramp isn’t there.

Dude, compare the comparable, all quarter pipes are not built the same. Your evidence is anecdotal, there is no reason riders were ballsier in the 80s than today. Iif anything, bikes are lighter and riders control their bikes better today than when the sport was just starting to develop
