While I would normally agree that Nolan's "feature-length trailer" style of editing and overuse of dialog (that is often hard to understand) can be *exhausting* (Dark Knight Rises and Tenet especially), for some reason it really worked and felt earned for me in this one. As cringe as a lot of the polical stuff was in the latter half of the film, it's pretty historically accurate so I can't fault him for including it. The purely audio-visual, introspective and emotional moments where Oppenheimer is contemplating the sheer gravity of the forces he's dealing with and the influence it will have for generations to come more than make up for all the little faults I had with it for me. The films exhaustive runtime and execution is earned by the subject matter and I'm eager to see it again in fact.

I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed those aspects of that more than I did. The whole film was certainly a huge undertaking with so much information to include. I think my viewing experience might’ve also been hindered by the amount of people on their phones and walking right in front of the screen at important moments. 😂😂

Yeah those kind of distractions are the worst when you're trying to get immersed in the story lol - I can't believe how many people walked in late during our screening.

Great review btw! I think this and Barbie are great indicators that cinema is finally healing and producers will hopefully start taking more chances and funding smaller films that are more daring and original in its subject matter.
