Aussie here. Another thing that has happened here is the fact that they set it up so that you have to get prescriptions for Vaping products but didn't set up the infrastructure to deal with the amount of people that are going to need to use the new system, so products are sold out almost instantly therefore pushing people to go get the product illegally. Whether that be illegally imported tobacco or disposable vapes which are not under strict regulatory guidelines and could cause harm. All in all, the government has screwed us over for their best interest and not for the people at all.

I get where you're coming from and agree with you that it was handled in a poor way to say the least. The infrastructure is there, they're using the same TGA notification methods that every other supplier for non-approved therapeutic products in the past. It just takes time to apply for the new licences they created to be an importer, file TGA notifications, with appropriate manufacturing documents, then wait for the TGA approval and be put on the list, then inform ABF with the appropriate proof so they can start the import process, stock managing in their local warehouses and finally list the devices for sale. They screwed us over but the infrastructure is already there. They were never going to wait for a pharmacy to stock up on 10 brands and have thousands of devices on the shelves before pushing it through parliament. A few devices have been in some of your local pharmacies for a couple of years already. There's bigger fish to fry than the one where we have no coils because of the sales rush, that'll be over in a month or 2. Pharmacies are claiming they want nothing to do with vaping, but just a year ago they were making deals with the tobacco industry for cheap wholesale prices on Philip Morris vapes. The nicotine regulations being so poor across the board that any child can walk into Woolworths health products isle and grab as much nicotine gum as they want off the shelf or order nicotine from ubereats and doordash.

@@enok7934 You're right, eventually stock will improve. In the long term, it's the flavours limited to mint, menthol and tobacco that will keep so many people using the black market.
