I've been wearing Vapor Glove 3s for about two years and switched to the 4. The extra room adds a lot of comfort, and I have had no fraying on the side of the shoe, which was a huge issue with the 3. This is my favorite shoe. Do yourself a favor and buy it.

Just got myself a pair of Vapor Glove 3's in gray leather, as they can be used in more different social situations and as the 4's don't seem to have any one color leather option. I think that the change in the 4's outsole was because the 3's can collect small stones between the grooves and the update eliminates that. Will probably also buy a pair of 4's sometime in the same colorway as yours in the future. Really like your reviews. Thanks.

Thanks for your review. I am an RN who suffers from some very mild to moderate back pain due to some "Degenerative" (i.e. old, worn out, I am 53) vertebral column changes......I use "zero drops" Altra Lone Peaks for hiking, which I bought some years ago based on some internet advice and review (!) and I never have a problem with my back on multi-day hikes. However I cannot say the same thing for those shoes I use at work, which do have a moderate drop. After 2 days my back feels tight and with some level of pain. Well, I 'cleaned up' the current hiker Altras for use at work and of course, after a couple of days, the revelation! No more back pain (DUH!). Well, I am planning to purchase these VT4 for work and/or daily life since they are also of a near zero/zero drop design. I have one question, is there space for an even thin layer of cushioning all along the length of the shoe? Just for additional comfort. I do stand around a lot during the 12 hour work day and I am no lightweight (5'11", 200 lbs, 44 chest, 34 waist). Thanks!

Great review. I own both the vapour glove 3 and xero prio and would say that the merrells are better for running at a faster pace than the prios as they are contoured and fit snugly around the foot with a slight arch. This seems to give good foot control. I feel that the prios are more suited to walking and gym work as they are completely flat on the sole. Keep up the great videos

Bro, I ordered exactly this shoes Vapor Glove 4, and also the Altra Vanish-R shoes. Both are convenient to wear, the Altra provides a slightly bigger toebox whereas the Merrell have a thiner sole. I want to keep only one pair of them, so I'd like to know about the robustness and durability or the Merrell shoes when wearing them on a daily basis on streets? Maybe you also know smth about the Altra, which for me seem super thin regarding the overlaying upper skin...

Hi, I just bought the vapor glove 4 yesterday after watching your review. it fits my left feet perfectly but not my right. my right feet is shorter and wider so i am wondering if there is actually arch support for the shoes as i felt a lump in the middle just below the ball of my right feet and the arch height is much tighter compared to the left. can it be that the outsole is uneven and which can cause the unevenness or one shoe to be higher than the other? i dont like arch support though relatively flat arch. went back to the shop to try on the same size and model of display set shoes but it felt like the other shoe is slightly flatter but still got a little protrusion. no exchange was allowed since i wore it. what is the best way to check for the insole of the barefoot shoes? been wearing converse all stars and vans which is zero drop but narrow. thank you!
@GrownandHealthy5 жыл бұрын
The Vapor gloves may have the mold (appearance) of arch support, but they do not.. They have flexible soles. In order for them to have full flexibility, The thinness of the sole and the sockliner are not stiff enough to support an arch.

Nice video! How much room do you have from the end of your longest toe and the end of the shoe? Just got some and there is a 1/4 in gap. Is that good, or should it be tighter? Thanks!
@GrownandHealthy5 жыл бұрын
The consensus among the the barefoot manufacturers is that they make them sightly larger to accommodate toe splay. As the foot is given more room to move than in conventional shoes, your foot will start to broaden. Does the foot expand enough to take up the extra space? In my opinion, no. But I assume there are varying degrees of expansion, depending upon the individual wearer that they are attempting to serve. Tl:DR: Yes, about a finger between the heel and shoe seems to be commonplace among minimal shoemakers.

Get barefoot shoes like primus from Vivo or these vapour gloves or Xero. And transition slowly, means don't use them if you have pain. Calves will hurt first and longest. Don't run to begin with. Just waking , around the house, then outdoors, do excercises like he's shows in video, lunges. There's no transition shoe. There's only transition period when your body adapts. But it's so with it. Is the impact on concrete/road hard on the joints when going on a run?
@GrownandHealthy5 жыл бұрын
Once you develop the right pattern and increase your cadence... you should feel zero pain. Always make sure your mobility isnt the cause of your joint pain.
@jgsk784 жыл бұрын
Once you star wearing this kind of shoe, the walking and running changes in such a way that you start absorbing impacts with soft tissues- muscles and tendons, mainly calves. That's what gets sore first, and lasts untill they adapt. But what also happens, because the whole body works more as a spring to distribute the impacts, the hard hits on landing that we create in cushioned shoes, that cause ankle, knees and back problems dissapear. Because of that soft landing risks of ankle sprains go away and lots of other things.. it's really transformative.
