A fantastic port of a great Data East arcade shooter. It's short, but it's a good time while it lasts.

Awesome, I love this game! People who complain about the price of new games these days have no idea-back in 1992, this game cost over $70!
@NintendoComplete8 жыл бұрын
Too true. I loved RPGs, and my dad would always groan. I remember at Macy's, any Square RPG was always 72.99. Random price. Carts were wicked expensive. He was pleased when they got me a PlayStation after he saw that the games were only 40-50 brand new!

That was too high back then that why I bought my games used or traded games with friends that the main reason my 16bit library was smaller than my nes or PlayStation library

I'm not really a shoot em up fan, it's not a genre I think about, but I saw this one in a Sega Lord X video recently and I really want it--it's the art style, the music, and the simplicity of it. I still have my Model 1 Genesis my uncle gave me in 1993.

Never seen this game before, but talk about understanding the Genesis hardware. I'm usually pretty good about identifying which 16-bit system a game is running on, but I would have called this as SNES. Great use of the limited palette, and phenomenal use of the sound chip. Even the FM instruments are amazing.
@Bloodreign14 жыл бұрын
It took a great programmer with custom sound drivers to make the Genesis sound good, and not every programmer had the ability to properly harness the power of the Genesis soundchip (Sega after all opted for a cheaper soundchip, which kind of hurt the Genesis, imagine if it had the soundchip of the SharpX68000), but those who knew how to harness thepower of the soundchip could get good music out of the thing (sound effects on the other hand, yeah lots of misses there for many games, a few hits now and again). The Genesis has a terrible reputation when it comes to sound, that's because most folks played the games released in the west, like Chakan, or X-Men 1, and got it into their heads that all Genesis games sound bad (they would be wrong of course). Now believe it or not, there are Sega fanboys who swear the SNES soundchip was awful, despite the SNES clearly outclassing the Genesis when it came to music (Plok's opening demo theme can attest to this, it is freaking amazing, and showed the full power of the SNES soundchip)

+NintendoComplete What kind of VideoGame company is called like a Telephone Company?
@danalong12378 жыл бұрын
It's TeleNet, a play on the words Telephone, Television and Internet. TeleNet Japan, and it's U.S. subsidiary Renovation Products, were later acquired by Sega, thus retiring the TeleNet name for good. As for TeleNet's other subsidiary, WolfTeam, it was later acquired by Namco and became Namco Tales Studio.

Great music in this Data East game, but did they have to use the same damned song for every stage? The game is good, but lord have mercy some music variety would've helped further.

pure shmup awsomeness ONLY Sega Genesis imo. ya the T 16 too but in reality, Genesis had "the" SHMUPS. IT has MUSHA for goodness sakes. MUSHA
@NintendoComplete8 жыл бұрын
MUSHA was awesome, but I'd argue that Soldier Blade or Gate of Thunder was easily equal to it. Or Blazing Lazers. Or Spriggan. Or Super Star Soldier. lmao Either way, no matter which of the three 16-bit systems you had, you had a great selection of shooters!

@@NintendoComplete the SNES being the worst of the three by far for this genre. Space mega force, Aero blasters, Axelay, Macross scrambled Valkyrie, R-type, UN squadron, Firepower 2000, Imperium are all decent but all pale in comparison to the TG16 and especially the Genesis.
