There is not a single verse in the 20000 plus verses of Veda Samhitaas that promote killing of animals. There are various verses which condemn killing of animals in Vedas. A word used for Yagya is Adhvara. Dhvara means violence. Adhvara means devoid of violence. Hence Yagya cannot include violence.
