from my understanding it's like joel said "stalker anomaly" where it teleports you. He got teleported once in the middle of the map and 2nd time it was when he wanted to get away/back from the anomaly. Or instead of teleportation it could be also something like from JoJo (Diavolo stand) time skip where you forgot the last steps you did.

@@vahlok1426 it's actually really smart the way he does it. the actual environment is fully modeled but incredibly simply and flat with very minimal texture work, the inside of the Iron Lung is a separate environment just outside the ocean map. When you adjust the position of the Iron lung, you're just moving the coordinates of a separate camera object that moves around the environment according to what you input.

To be fair while I don't know if what he said here is intended to be talking shit or not, what he said is correct and shouldn't be presented as such. Subnautica IS NOT a horror game, it's not even trying to be. The devs have stated before people just found it accidentally scary despite that not being the intent, and the one segment that was like going to be deliberately "horror-ish" got cut from the game.

Joel mentioning "why is it in terrible resolution".. anybody else have this with youtube lately? It just sets itself to like 480 or 720p for no reason. My internet is more than fast enough for hd or 4k... but it just randomly downgrades the quality sometimes. It's been doing that since a few months

It's that broken data saver feature they added. I have mine set to "high quality" for all videos, but it still plays most things at 480p for a minute before figuring itself out.

I have the same problem but mine is set to 480p and it’ll drop lower than that :(
