The move from flushes to more advanced builds usually happens once you realize just how good tarot and spectral cards are for transforming your deck, since full houses or four of a kinds require you to rig the deck in your favor before they're truly effective.

@DirectorOfChaos9292 Try using a "the Sun", "the Moon", "the Star" or "the World" tarot card to help you make a straight flush or even a royal flush. I've yet to make the 'Seance' Joker useful in a Balatro run - I want to try making as many Jacks, Kings and Queens into 'wild cards' as possible in order to make Seance proc, but it's a lot of effort for a spectral card that may not even be useful.

I was surprised at how useful the high contrast cards were, personally. I’m not colour blind but I play this game on my phone and the club and spade symbols look too similar in black, so I’ve pressed the wrong cards a couple times. The high contrast mode fixed that, by making the suits different colours as well as different shapes.
