This comes from twisted minds of the 77 shop dudes. There is a new Polini Cup class which is Puch E50 with a 64cc Polini Top End. No one said it couldn't variate.

That is indeed an set of E50 cases. Everything except for the crankcase was removed from the cases (so there is no oil used). Cases were flipped upside down and an pivot bracket (like a pug or moby) was made and attached via the case bolts to the top of the motor.

Well, there was no transmission fluid to pour out, since we cut the back of the engine off. It was a huge performance gain to have a Puch Polini kit rev out to variated specs. It was a Puch E50 case for sure. The whole bike was made out of garbage laying around the work shop. It was crazy fast!

That first bike almost caused my eyes to roll out of my skull. Sick!

That's awesome. Wish my bike was that fast!

if you still have the case halves, i would like to see some pictures, sounds like an intresting project, but still an insane amount of work :)

We do carry pretty much all the parts that were used in the building of this motor. However most of the parts were heavily modified for the build. If you want more information please email us support at 1977mopeds

The reason the ignition is on the wrong side is because the engine is upside down. That's the way they were able to variate it.

How did lubrication of the (former) clutch-side 6203 bearing occur if you trimmed down the clutch end to make the variator fit?

Nice!!! What speed did you get out of it???

It isn't a puch at all. Its a peugeot 103 frame with a peugeot engine block and transmission. But i guess there is a puch cilinder/carb/exhaust on it

Please first understand why this motor came into existence. The polini cup had a class of race bikes where the rules were very simple, you needed to use an E50 motor and a puch polini kit. In any other situation these modifications would be silly but in this case they were pure genius.

@adb140275 1, that still doesnt make it a puch e 50 engine, 2, that moped isnt 100 percent original, so the engine mounts could be changed
der Puch-Motor ist verkehrt (kopfüber) jn Peugeot gestell eingebaut!

not an puch e50, thats a peugeot, on almost all puch`s the ignition system is on the other side, and the e 50 has a bigger engine block

why "chop" a case, come on, that may be a custom engine, but i see the peugeot variator system, nobody would ever chop an engine case, could be a custom case made for e 50 parts, but not an e 50 case. ou had to be pretty uninteligent to do that amount of work for the tiny performance advantage, + if you turn an e50 block upside down the oil will poor out, because of the oil overflow hole in the top
