Madam just FYI. Maheshwari saris are woven in Maheshwar, near Indore in Madhya Pradesh. It was started and patronised by Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar, the great queen. She was a widow and wanted good quality saris woven for the royalty and her guests. So she brought weavers from Gujarat to Maheshwar and helped them set up the unique weave. She got unique saris made with simple borders, and that legacy continues. But of late many new borders, buttas have been put into them
