'Schitt's Creek' Cast and Comics Surprise Eugene Levy During His Lifetime Achievement Award

Eugene Levy accepted the Newport Beach Film Festival's Lifetime Achievement Award and though he couldn't give his acceptance speech in person due to Covid-19, that didn't stop a few of his close friends from surprising him with a tribute video. Along with his "Schitt's Creek" co-stars and children, his friends Steve Martin, Martin Short, Jennifer Coolidge also shared in the celebration.

I think the most heartwarming thing is his facial expressions and emotions when his children are talking about him. He's a great guy, peers seem to think so and I think the rest of us can all agree. It just appears that deep down, he does what he does with his family on his heart and in his soul. THAT's what makes him a great man, the rest is just "glitter" :)

Piston or bulb syringe won’t make your patients cringe sure flow sure flow….. when I was a nursing student the lovely voice of Moira Rose played through my subconscious and your work together and your pregnant Canadian pauses in reaction to your beautiful stage wife made my work carrying for others lighter and broader haha. Well done Mr. Levy, this award is so deserved! "I wouldn't rule that out" - I've seen a few interviews with Dan, too, and it seems he's gradually softened to the idea that there might be more Schitt's Creek to come. He started out saying it was absolutely over and the story was done, but then every time I saw a new interview he seemed to get a little more into the idea or writing more. I'm certain they must have come up with some great ideas since then, especially after the little online special they all did in character.

@@makinoahcelloduo9008 No, he wasn't retired. He's been producing and singing what are called 'novelty records', the last one was 'my mothers brisquette' or something like that. He was interviewed on CBC's "Q". He said that he simply didn't get any scripts that were things he wanted to do. However, its 'odd' that he didn't even do any of the SCTV tribute videos, apparantly Martin Scorcese has one coming out on Netflix and THAT got him to talk, you don't say no to Martin Scorcese. With all due respect I suspect a personal tragedy like that makes you rethink priorities and maybe even impacts other aspects of your life. I think I read that Dave Thomas was also sick of hte bob and doug thing, but talked Rick into doing some animated versions of it way back when. But the ghostbusters thing would have given him a huge paycheque for about five minutes work, so thats a real head scratcher. I thought the movie sucked, but its not like Laurence Tulley is a sacred character that you wouldn't want to disrespect. But according to him he wasn't retired, and its not like Hollywood deals up a huge wealth of quality material, most comedies in hollywood make 'honey I shrunk the kids' look like monty python. But like I said, the big mystery is why he seems to not even want to do SCTV retrospectives. Andrea Martin recently did an interview and clearly had not even heard from him and was amazed that Martin Scorcese could drag him to the public eye. BUt did I read something about him getting punched in the head on the streets or somethign?

I watched Schitts Creek (multiple times) and have to say its one of the best shows I have ever watched. It didn't seem like "acting". It was real and genuine.
