I really like both, they’re brilliant but I’m not into this idea of reusing the same actors for every movie. A lot of Directors do this and it totally makes sense in terms of enjoyment and making process easier but I want to see variety, I feel it weakens the films eventually, despite loving Emma’s performances, I’d prefer to see other actors take on and tackle his strange creations, otherwise it becomes repetitive for me.

Why did Emma get so nervous when Yorgos' wife's name was mentioned? They both felt uncomfortable 😅 my god
@marz967610 ай бұрын
I know I'm not the only one scratching my head over the complete disconnect between Yorgos choices and framing of the dominating sex scenes of the film and the storyline of a child/woman TRYING TO FREE HERSELF, Yorgos, from patriarchy and the sexual exploitation of men. Its like the entire movie, phony feminist plot and all, was just an expensive ploy to get Emma to play out Yorgos sexual fantasies of her, for his own personal pleasure. And we have to cringe and side eye through these personal and private sessions. Like he has no self awareness that his not-so-professional fixations have leaked out into the public arena. Watching these scenes made me think of how Alfred Hitchcock was sexually obsessed with his "starlets". He would fixate on them, control them and put them in demeaning, humiliating, and even dangerous scenes for his own sadistic pleasure and then he'd sit alone and watch his favorite reels over and over. Does anyone doubt that Yorgos sits and watches his favorite scenes of Emma, over and over.
@YorgosL19 ай бұрын
It’s his movie. Emma is a producer. Both are good friend. They collaborate with free will.
@marz96769 ай бұрын
@Flowermoonkiller I believe Emma was honest. Her actions met her claimed intentions. He was not honest. His actions did not meet his claimed intentions. You see serious passive aggression towards women. It's a blatant con and clearly old school sexual exploitation, falsely presented to all parties as progressive. Where's the equality? He could have at least thrown in some hot young Magic Mike guy moments for the women to enjoy, since he went down that road. But that would bruise the aging narcissist director's ego and fantasy. Aging narcs are like the Mormon elders in their communities that expel the hot young men from their world to try to control young women. The female audience wasn't even considered. Aging man's sexual fantasies.
@YorgosL19 ай бұрын
@@marz9676 this movie about a perspective of a woman. Why would he need to throw in some magic mike ? There is no exploitation. A lot of woman enjoy it. Telling me throwing in those scene for ‘woman’ to enjoy is hilarious. I know more woman praise this movies as much as men.
@marz96769 ай бұрын
@YorgosLanthimos1 First, Its not the perspective of a woman. It's a woman from the very limited perspective of men. If it ACTUALLY was the perspective of a young uninhibited sexually voracious woman, then THERE WOULD BE PLENTY OF HOT MEN! That is the reality of the perspective of a young woman and her sexual desires
@marz96769 ай бұрын
