i just really wanna commend and praise jay for his English cause even though he was born in the States, he's left for Korea at a young age itself and most likely, got out of the habit of talking in English. He mentioned in another interview how he's sometimes nervous to speak in English cause he doesn't get to practice a lot. But all i have to say is, jay you are still so incredibly good at English and be confident in yourself cause you honestly are amazing. I mean, it's hard enough being fluent in 2 languages but you are fluent in 3 and that's truthfully so praiseworthy. Keep being the wonderful you, my jay💕

I agree. It's wonderful that they give him that freedom to act like a teenager but they are also always willing to teach him when he has questions or doesn't know something. Living without any parental guidance and not being able to go to school since he was 13 years old must have affected his social development and general knowledge but the other members have been helping supplement those gaps and I have also seen the hyung line advise him when something isn't right or it would be better to do things another way. Luckily Ni-ki's parents did an amazing job raising him for the first 13 years of his life and he's just naturally a really kind hearted soul even when he was a little kid so so far it doesn't look like it has negatively affected him that much. Although I still wish they would have let him attend high school in Korea like he wanted...

He mentioned a number of times that he was planning to go to high school in Korea, that he wants to formally learn various art techniques, and even at one point said he'll probably go to the same high school as Jay. However as time went on his situation became more uncertain. I remember during one of the Vlives, he asked Jay if he can enroll to his school but Jay was not sure because his school was undergoing some issues and not accepting any new enrollments. Later on, I read a post from a J-Engene who looked into the issue and they said that for Ni-ki to enroll in a Korean high school, he first needs to go back to Japan and complete a Japanese high school enrollment exam and from there the school needs to set up the transfer to a Korean high school, and there's also all these requirements and official documentation that needs to be prepared and submitted. As this was during Covid, Ni-ki was not able to travel to Japan, and because he's so busy/ the company sucks, he still hasn't even been able to go back home 4 years later. They'll fly them to Japan to perform but won't give Ni-ki enough time off to travel back to his house (it's a little far from the city). Now they're so busy I don't think even if Belift allowed Ni-ki to go home, he will have enough time to study and prepare for the exam, collect and complete all the required documentations, and attend classes for it to be worth it. It's really sad because he was looking forward to it and you make a lot of good memories, lasting friendships, and great experiences. in addition to the academic learning, at high school. At the very least, I would have wished for him to have the opportunity to socialize and make some same age friends since he doesn't really have any 😟

Also got to say the James Bond exchange between Jay and Sunghoon was so funny. I really have to applaud Sunghoon. He doesn't let the fact that he's not good at a language stop him from speaking. 6:47 the way most of them picked jay here and I also was thinking of him for this question, like he's always been someone so curious by nature and always willing to learn new things. Like the way he learnt japanese mostly by himself through lots of listening time and by watching anime and challenged himself to try to learn french by himself.
