I know you likely didn’t mean it this way, but it’s sometimes wild how people put celebrities on such a high pedestal they don’t even consider them the same human beings. We don’t consider the biggest failures of humanity non-human, so why should we with the biggest successes. Ofc there’s nuance to this: especially on the actor’s side of celebrities who envelope different characters as the main way we perceive them, rather than their true self. Often times we grow attached to the characters rather than the actors, the portrayal is more resonating than the person portraying, perhaps that creates a distance in our comparisons to us “ordinary” individuals. The spectacle of movies creates a spectacle of actors that we seemingly cannot compare with. Looks like I answered my own issue.

Here is the interesting thing about that... Reynolds has tried the serious route, but his fans weren't all for it at the box office. He probably retreated to comedy after a film like Buried, which was ambitious, by the way. I thought he was great in it, but the fans stayed home. The movie business is just that, a business. What you get with Reynolds is a very talented actor/writer/producer who has figured Hollywood out in a way. This conversation just proves how insightful he actually is. Beyond that, I remember when Jake Gyllenhaal commented that he thought Reynolds deserved an Oscar nomination for Deadpool, I thought he was out of his mind. Curious, I watched Deadpool again, intent on finding what Gyllenhaal had noticed. It was right there on screen... Reynolds pushing character through prosthetic make-up and a super hero suit through what he calls clown work. I respect him for that ability.

@rsupriya13 күн бұрын
I think some of the hate may be just a Ryan Reynolds specific unfavorable opinion, and not on all comedy or comedians in general. I personally think while RR is intelligent and a great business man, as an artist, he is one dimensional and limited in ability. Garfield on the other hand has been focused purely on acting and has incredible versatility. I enjoy AG movies and wait for his next role and with know exactly what RR movies can offer artistically.

@@rsupriyai wont sit here and claim I've seen all of his movies, but I wouldn't make too many judgements about RRs acting ability. Wow, this interview is such a healing moment for the spectators. It felt very soothing to watch and listen too. I felt very light and calm watching this, and was smiling throughout the whole video. This interview was mind-opening for me and really let us into their world. They were very understanding to eachother and had a very nice heart to heart conversations. Love them, they were incredible!

I don't think I could love Andrew Garfield more.

Honestly, the camera work conversation about entering the shot versus having the camera find him is the most interesting but SOOOOOO true things about comedy. It is funnier and I've never though of these simple things. He (Ryan) really is a comedic genius of his craft.

"heaven is what we leave behind ... " In tears and that made me have a visceral reaction for someone I miss and thinking about everything they did for me and continue to do for me in memories.

Think he meant leaving a legacy having people around who will always remember you even after they’re gone The way Ryan still remembers his friend Eric or Andrew still misses and remembers his mom

As I expected, Andrew Garfield laughed right out of the gate at the start 😂. We all knew this was going to be a positive riot of an Actors on Actors pairing. What I didn't expect here was a deep philosophical genuine exchange.

I was just getting to know my Dad as an adult when he died when I was 19. I really miss him these days, he was a remarkable person and I try hard to emulate him now that he's been gone for almost 40 years.

It sucks that this may only ever be the closest we get these two together like this as an example to Deadpool and Spider-man we all would have wanted to see on the screen. Two amazing actors and a great conversation between them.

We will get it but it’ll probably be Tom holland and I’m ok with that too

I grew up around Will and genuinely didn’t know he was a comedian until Anchorman came out. The funniest people are often just sponges of observation and very sensitive and aware in their personal life.

Always love these heartfelt, vulnerable talks within this series that conts to keep these celebs...humanized...bc they are...humans.

Andrew Garfield is truly a legend. He is definitely one of the best actors to walk on hearth. Every single performance is so unique and special! Amazing. Sony needs to bring this legend back as Spider-Man.
