Amazing piece of work performed by the world class band. I always believe that good music is like a bridge that connects a composer to his/her audiences and this piece does just that. While I listened to this piece, the first part led me to the joy of celebration. But it plunged me to sorrow and loneliness in the second part, at least this was how I felt. Then the last part turned the mood around to happiness and of course happy ending. I wonder why the second part was there. Was it like a flashback of the time before celebration? Just curious though. Great job, Varis. I'm looking forward to listening to your next work.

Thank you very much, I really appreciated it. For the middle section, I intend for it to be more of a moment of reflection or recollection, a contrast to the bright and celebratory outer sections. I felt that even while celebrating, one might look back on memories and the journey that lead them to the present. However, to each their own, and I welcome however you would like to interpret the piece.

The ‘Zinc’ part sounds so difficult for those brass players to perform! 😆 And were you inspired by the introduction part of ‘You Have Got a Friend in Me’ for the ‘Copper’ part? 😂 (just kidding though - the descending harmonic progression really reminds me that song in particular, among many others 😄)

By the way, hope I am referring to them correctly for the ‘Zinc’ and ‘Copper’ part 😂

Thank you very much. I only realised just now that the 'Copper' theme does indeed sound similar to 'You've Got a Friend in Me'! The 'Copper' theme was actually based on the first six notes of the second subject of my earlier composition 'An Orient Overture'.
