@@RealLordVoldemortso basically if i wanted to make Geo a great element, i have to pull for a 5* character? locking the worth of Geo/Crystallize behind character kits is not saving an element. it just shows that navia is great because of her kit, not because of her element. character kits are bandaid solutions. if one has to get a specific character to make good use of geo’s one and only reaction, then geo isn’t saved. As it stands, Geo objectively remains to be the worst element in the game.

She couldve been a Pyro character with the same exact kit but having Pyro as a trigger and she would still be very good (In fact, she would even be better in this theoretical example, as Pyro generally have better reactions). If Geo being a bad element was an open wound, then Navia as a character is simply a band-aid.

Yep. Navia is great because of her kit/multipliers, not because of her element. Crystallize as a base reaction is just badly designed. Its fundamental mechanic as a reaction needs rework.

​@@skyhart9926the problem is that Crystallize was supposed to act as a form of protection based off of the elemental mastery of the Geo character enabling it. If they could at least make it so that the element interacting with geo is the one The crystallize shard scales off, then it could be better as then You could have a caveat for slotting Geo in A hyperbloom or Spread team. This wont solve all of Geo's problems but it's a hella lot better than relying on Archaic Petra to use Crystallize to interact with the team.

Geo should react with anemo, call it "sand storm" reaction, react with hydro to make mud, and react with Pyro to make lava, geo reactions should fill in their own niche by providing debuffs to enemies, for example mud can slow down enemies or something

I think geo already found itself an identity for elemental reaction type that hasn't been nailed in yet. Closest hint is Archaic Petra which themes crystallize as a buffing reaction. All it needs now is crystallize itself giving the buffs depending on element, like healing or hp% buff with hydro shards, flat atk from pyro shards, flat energy from electro shards, and crit rate from cryo shards. That way, Archaic Petra and crystallize itself doubles onto two buffs. Debuffs exist through VV and mainly superconduct, CC through freeze, stagger through overloaded and electro charged, and damage through melt, vape, hyperbloom, burgeon, and aggravate/spread.

It could also interact with Dendro, making dendro constructs that could react with other elements (like fireplaces during rain). Maybe call it "sprout" or something. Dendro teams already want many elements, so making Geo usable with Dendro would indirectly make it usable with other elements if done right.

@@flamezforthegamez1056 i highly agree with you. Crystallize is meant "absorbing the respective element's power" which can be defined as stealing the element's nature and buffing the attacker. Not only it gains the defensive one from creating crystallized shield, it should give the attacker the respective element power that is being crystallized Here's my concept: The em in crystallize should also scales how many atk% buff from pyro crystallize, hp% and healing buff from hydro, energy recharge% buff from electro crystallize and crit rate buff to the characters protected by the respective crystallized shields. So this encourage people to build em on geo and hopefully one day we will get a geo character that scales of em

I find her so strong with Albedo, the fact that he can generate crystallise shards without taking away the elements feels so good to me, without adding that : strong sub dps, geo resonance for bonus damage and geo shred. (Oh and he is also really good to place her axe on other characters such as Freminet in a Freminet/Albedo/Furina/Kuki team, but it mainly works because my Furina is C2)

As a C6 Furina, the team options are indeed near limitless. Playing with Furina Navia Albedo Yelan (wet-rock), the flow of rotations is some of the most fun I've had in 2+ years!

I feel like as time goes on, Geo characters should establish their new identity by manipulating the crystallize reaction into new inventive ways-I feel like this can be a cool compromise between making Geo more useful in a game where reactions are everything and keeping the element’s core identity inert & solitary as pre-established. Navia has shown that by making Crystalize reactions catalyze unique gimmicks, Geo can become pretty fun and compete as an element. Imagine Geo characters with unique mechanics like: - Granting a coordinated attack when under a crystalize shield - One that can heal characters when crystalize shards are picked up - One that makes crystalize shields stack their duration, types, and strength with multiple crystalize reactions - Allows crystalize shards to explode like dendro cores, dealing AoE Geo damage to perpetuate more crystalize reactions Of course maybe they could rework crystalize itself to be more exciting, and the thought of Geo as an element being too reliant on their characters can rub some people the wrong way, but imo the thought of unique crystalize modifiers being tied to characters could make the element excel in niches and team archetypes we’ve never seen before.

Those are actually amazing well-thought out ideas. But Hoyoverse is far in too deep with how they (badly) designed the core mechanics of Crystallize. Wonderfully, your ideas are somehow a solution moving forward. I hope Hoyoverse would implement these suggestions. Unfortunately, it seems Hoyoverse is allergic to improving Crystallize as a reaction itself.

I think they fck up with Geo, having some chara scale of def and other off attack is just stupid especially since unlike elemental character that can work with Anemo, you are stuck with only Furina who can buff all character if you want to buff those split scaling chara in the same team (Albedo+Navia for example, Gorou can buff Albedo+Noelle/Itto but not Navia) or be happy with their raw dmg output like with Navia + Albedo, Bennett, Xiangling.

What it Geo+Dendro gave the 'bind' reaction. When I think earth or plant based characters I think Defense and Healing respectively, but CC also comes to mind with petrify and ensnare. If Geo/Dendo gave some kind of CC that would be an interesting alternative to using an Anemo character such as Kazu or Venti seeing as their VV sets dont actually help Geo. Dendro would be able to provide a niche support role in a Geo team. Just a thought.

I think a cool idea for a Geo + Anemo reaction would be like a damage reaction dependent on the order similar to quicken’s aggravate and spread. I can see Geo + Anemo turning into Deposition where it does bonus Geo-damage in a small AoE and shoves the target back (unlike overload where it knocks everyone around base on the position, this one will always be a knock back), and any crystallize shards caught up in the AoE extend the AoE (like a chain reaction) The second order of Anemo + Geo can do something like Sandstorm where it creates a circular field near the afflicted enemy that does 4 small instances of Geo Damage, and if there are crystallized shards around the area they get picked up and can smack into the enemy with their damage based on the type of shard.

Given Chiori is a geo character, I guess she'll be THE support for Navia, and Ningguang in a way, if she actually improves Crystallize instead of just using it as a condition to do more damage. I mean, many people, when talking about improving it, use the Nilou example. So Maybe if Chiori had different "reactions" depending on what crystallize shield is taken, maybe different buffs Navuia would have certain teams in mind. Right now, I'm using Ningguang with Navia, and I'm glad the three geo DPS have completely different teams that make them optimal. Itto wants triple Geo with Gorou. Noelle wants Furina and maybe Gorou or Yunjin, and Navia with Ning. Although not beneffiting much from Ningguang, she's a Geo Catalyst that can reliably create crystallize reactions, Run Petra, buffs Geo attacks with E and is a quickswap( my C6 rotation has her use E+Q+E+CA) and being also an Atk Scaler, both can benefit from the same buffers like Benett. Ning can even run Amber and heal a bit, although no use for heals in a Benett team.

Definitely not the “saviour of geo” a character won’t be doing that unless they rework the reaction like nilou. since a shield isn’t really the focus in genshin (it’s a damage test game) geo will always be bad unless a artifact or character makes geo characters do a lot more damage just the way it is right now

Nuke showcases for Candace have her putting up numbers with her skill that are as good as Navia's. _Candace_ for Christ's sake. She does 125-250k, fully buffed, and that damage is all Navia can, or will ever, do. At the same level of investment Itto will easily put up 100k per attack with his burst. A C6 Noelle can easily reach 40-50k per attack over a huge AoE. Forget about the sorry state of the rest of Geo, and everything that was riding on her as the first new character for the element in more than half the game's lifespan. Here's Navia, taking up a whole spot on your team to swap in and do maybe 300k to a single target every 12 seconds if you focus entirely on just maximizing her damage. In what universe is that even an "okay" character mechanically? Jesus, tell me you're being paid by Hoyoverse to make this video without telling me you're being paid by Hoyoverse.

Man I feel like she has officially replaced Itto but then again he doesn't exist anyway, he's about to be the next Eula because I have seen nothing about him whatsoever recently which sucks because I really want him. He and Koko are the last Inazuma characters I need and I can finally start chasing the rest of the Sumeru characters. Anyway I feel like Geo resonance is the way to go and so I plan on using her with Albedo, I'm not all about meta teams as Idc for meta just using who I think will be fun together or who I haven't played as in a bit. If they're not gonna rework Geo, then maybe they can make characters in the future who have a syngergy with crystalize and/or recive a bonus when they pick up a crystal. Im also gonna throw this, Archaic Petra should've been a character, not an artifact set, with the character being centered around creating and picking up crystals to give his/her teammates elemental damage bonus. Also, mayhaps in the future we could get Geo-characters who work in a similar manner to Nilou or Chevreuse, where having a team consisting of only Geo and another element will create a new reaction, like Geo+Pyro team will make lava instead of crystalize, or Geo+Hydro will create erosion or mud, Geo+Cryo creates brittle, you get the idea...

It would be beneficial to give the Crystallize shield a Jade Shield-like effect, where it reduces enemy resistance based on the strength of the shield. Or maybe give a damage buff based on EM to the character in the shield.

I just got her, but the pulls didn't go well this time. Lost my 50/50 to Diluc, had to go up to 80 for Navia, so now I have no other choice but to pass on her weapon. But nonetheless, Navia is hilariously fun to play. Powerful, graceful, armed with a shotgun! What's sad is that she's simply too powerful in the overworld, where most enemies die before getting to full 6 shrapnel. Still, she immediately dethroned Charlotte as my previous favourite Fontanian. Here's hoping that Chlorinde and Arle won't lag behind!

Mihoyo just needs to make it so when you pick up crystalize shields on top of pre existing crystalize shields the previous one explodes and deals damage based on EM. That's the only way it would even make sense why they wouldn't stack in the first place and I'm not sure why they didn't design it to work like this

IMO they should change Crystalize to apply a Defense shred debuff on top of shearing off a elemental shards. -20% Def for 10 seconds, and crystalize shields get 2.5% of geo damage dealt +base amount from level in shield-hp. Also buff Shatter to be amplified, which it should've been since Day 1. Which would give Geo some extra synergy with Freeze (as well as a buff to Physical). Superconduct at least causes damage for it's shred, so getting a Def shred debuff while keeping the weak shields for sake of existing compatibilities shouldn't really unbalance anything, while also giving Geo a support niche, since pretty much everyone benefits from a Defense shred. Exact number might need to be played around with to find a decent amount. Though somewhere between 15-25% should be reasonable.

I got her C0 (after losing to Tighnari) and did actually go for the weapon banner and was lucky to get Mistsplitter which I have been chasing for ages. But now I'm totally drained of anything wishing related at least until Cloud Retainer, and I won't have the ability to lose 50/50 on her if I want to have any chance of getting her.

C0 is fine for me. Debating on her weapon. I got REALLY burned on the only two weapons I've ever pulled for; both Neuvilette and Wriothesley's took me to the guaranteed pull and that got costly. The only reason I pulled for those Catalyst is because there weren't any good alternatives to the HP mechanics both characters introduced. Navia doesn't have that and I've got a full invested Serpent Spine AND Furina's HP drain doesn't count as getting hit and losing stacks; nor does getting hit while shielded and Navia literally collects Crystallize shields like Pokémon, lol. The ONLY incentive I've got to pull for the weapon is that it's an axe and God damn it that's STILL a compelling enough reason to entertain it, lol. I just don't want to lose twice on the pull again.

It's about freaking time hoyo started bringing more variety into weapons. I swear Claymores don't mean literally just double handed swords. It could mean axes, clubs or hammers. Like debate club for example since thne we had only claymore swords even though there were plenty of characters like Itto who could have gotten a 5 star club style claymore instead of the sword.

i rarely commment on videos, but it doesnt get on my mind why the "shatter" reaction is triggered not by Geo, but by any GS user, which most of the time is shitty bcs you want the frozen status held up for as long as possible. Let shatter do elem mastery cryo or Geo(or 50/50) dmg, let it shatter from "hard rocks" and Geo is fine, and let it swirl (e.g. any rpg, avatar, sandstorms...) .Done edit.: even i throw rocks on frozen water surfaces, trying to break it irl

Gonna shoot for C0 Navia, though I don't expect to get her 'cause I've already had a run of really good luck and I can't imagine it's going to last for much longer. If I DO get her though, I'm definitely not going to try to get her weapon, as awesome as it is. Being completely f2p I simply don't have the resources (plus I also want to a bunch of other characters after her, starting with Yoimiya).

It would have been better if different buffs can be obtained depending on wht shards you picked up. Like how Nahida's Q works depending on which element is on the team.

They should give every geo character in the game a “crystallise” talent which makes their kit interact with the reaction in some way. Make geo more interesting PLEASEEE😂

She 1000% is not a geo saver. As someone who has been waiting for a geo dps to use with Gorou that isn’t clunky or claymore, Navia was tad disappointing. I’m glad she is doing somthing interesting and is serviceable /good. If I had actually hard saved like I did for dendro for geo like I planned I wouldn’t be happy at all. :/ Sigh~

I don't think she saves geo in any way it still sucks but she doesn't suck surprisingly. The main reason is that, unlike all the previous geo characters, she can actually interact well with characters of others elements thru using crystalize in a meaningful way. In order for geo to be saved we need much more than navia. She didn't save the element she just saved herself from being doomed like the rest of the geo cast thru a nice kit

I would like that if there was a reaction called erode (dendro/anemo + geo) that would shred def (stacks up until a point). With this reaction, the geo element would be put on par with other elements. The thing is that I still think that dendro has to many reactions...

People seem to forget that anemo also has 1 reaction in swirl yet works great. Why not just buff up crystallize so it doesn't break easily

dendro and electro created way too many reaction names: catalyze, spread, quicken, spread, hyperbloom (with hydro). Five! and yet hoyoverse couldn’t come up with one reaction between geo and dendro.

Geo not reacting with Dendro was such a wasted potential. Dendro could've saved Geo just as it saved Electro.

She is definitely one of the most satisfying and fun DPS but she is not ground breaking Op cuz she is Geo and she is in the end a DPS. She is still a great character but nowhere near as meta breaking as Furina and definitely did not save Geo as an element like Dendro did to Electro, unfortunately. That said, competent new character that is fun and relatively flexible is always worth celebrating cuz if you like her as a chara you can pull for her without worry or feel like it is a wasted resource (like Dehya) but at the same time there is no pressure in pulling her if you don't like her unlike Nahida, Kazuha, Bennett or Furina. Yes no character are must pull but top tier support can expand your team building possibility and DPS ceiling making them a priority pull

Geo is NOT physical with an elemental sticker attached, Geo is affected by Elemental damage bonuses, Physical isn't

Geo faruzan? Is that not gorou? Same damage percent bonus and crit damage bonuses for their elements and even both bow characters
