Indeed it is correct if you're playing as a squad and somehow your teammate kills their friends and then activate friendly fire, it will effect for the rest of them. Even if they didn't do it they will get reverse kill.

This game makes hundreds of millions of dollars but people up top just decided just bots and "anti cheats" are cheaper than real people. Problem is they either don't work well or ask to basically "own" your PC.

I think it's time devs just came down hard on cheaters like never before. No matter if you're using mods, hacks, or special devices. There's no reason people should be handed automatic losses because they don't have a certain device or the same willingness/skill to hack/mod. The only people who can constantly beat them or give them a run for their money are the most sweaty players.

it’s hard to find cheating using irl devices. most anti cheats work by scanning files on your computer for cheating software (no this isn’t invasive don’t worry). with a device separate from the computer, it’s only chance is to see if inputs are “too perfect.” it can be really hard to tell apart super high level play from these devices sometimes. it’s also really easy to make your device slightly worse to go under the radar but still be an advantage

When you teamkill once it just says you have it and when you tk twice it shows the whole squad and pops up for only the ppl who don’t have it (Squad TK only shows up in the second TK and the maestro was the first teamkill and alibi was the second so they were probably all playing together)

I think the saddest part is that people like varsity dont know or understand that by simply running an executable on a windows machine companies can have access to all the files and personal information on the system if they wanted to. Whether the software runs on kernel level or not doesnt change that on a platform as vulnerable as windows, we just trust them not to do malicious things or have bad actors use their software as trojans. To put it plainly, there is no personal information at the kernel level, it exists on the OS level which all programs you install can have access to due to how windows permissions work.

The alibi and jager are queued with either the cheater or the other teammate because your squad has to get 2 tks to get it for the squad and no it does not always show up that the whole squad gets anti tk

I'm fortunate in that my PC is *only* used for gaming. There's literally nothing on it at all that would be compromising. If a kernel level cheat was busted and it gave hackers access to my rig, they could see what games I have installed. And that's it. All of my work stuffs, tax stuffs, email, web browsing, etc are all done on another machine. Basically: your option 3. I'm not at all in favor of kernel level anti-cheats. I get why devs are leaning into it: it's the "easy" way out. They realize they're losing the war because cheat makers are already using kernel level cheats. It's literally the only way to detect the cheats on the PC; otherwise the cheat can hide from user-space apps like Battle-eye, Punk Buster, et al.

With how prominent cheaters have become in recent years and how difficult they are to get rid of, a better more invasive anti-cheat (like valorant's) seems to be the best way to prevent cheaters from even entering the game. And if you don't want to risk your personal information looks like getting a second PC is the best work around, which increases the demand for good PC component's.

Regarding cheating: I am willing to suffer quite a bit to have cheater-free games. Times are going to get tougher still and I believe ultimately it will be necessary to tie your gaming account to something that little kids cannot reobtain over and over again. A first step is tying ranked to an actual phone number, not just having verficiation over email. But I believe we need to go further. I know credit cards are tricky, because you can generate these over and over again, which is also true with phone numbers. Maybe there is a market for something like a "gaming honesty certificate", which requires an independent company checking your (or your parent's) ID and you cannot get it twice, once Ubisoft/Valve/Riot flags you as a cheater? This way at least the gaming companies don't get all your private data. Anyway, brainstorm over.

Option 3 came right into my mind as soon as you argued that it gets your personal information. I don't have value information on my pc yet if they get such a anticheat I probably do get a second pc or have a second system on one of my ssd's so I can switch between them.

Applications you have on your computer alone act as spyware. Any program or app can access your data and steal it if they wanted to. If Ubisoft did that with their own anti cheat without a user agreement for that data they would most likely get into legal trouble. Have trusts in bigger company's especially reputable ones like Ubisoft. Why would they want your information specifically? They are as big and rich as they are.

Privacy > Games of course. If UBI announces an anti-cheat that has all access to my PC, I probably won't(and can't afford to) get a new PC, but I will get a new hard drive and install a new OS, run games on the new hard drive while the original hard drive is removed. Some of my friends said why don't the game force the player to turn on their Windows Defender while running it. I'm not sure this will work effectively keeping cheaters away from the game or not(and don't know how turning on the Windows.d will help)

I think you compromise on privacy in more ways than a kernel level anti cheat daily - twitter, your own phone, cameras on the street, online purchase history, etc. Besides, this access is not designed to actively browse your files and look for tax records (which you can encrypt, btw). I think for vast majority this type of anti cheat in Siege would be a blessing.
