I want Bawa's level of confidence while truly believing things that are wrong eg. Bawa confidently brushing off that Rannvijay didnt win s1 of Roadies when in fact that's what shot him to fame 😋 In another episode Bawa confidently said to Kautuk that we don't have a 'bicameral' anything in the Govt, when in fact, we do have a 'bicameral' legislature. While Bawa knows a lot of stuff, there is a whole lot he doesn't know but Bawa thinks he knows 😂

watching this 3 years after its release because I've become a TISS addict just last month. my favourite thing about this episode is, not only is it the best cold open ever but also how for Bawa the cold open ran throughout the episode as everyone stopped eating but he kept eating his guava ice cream throughout the episode. He's the only one who legit ate the whole tub of ice cream :p

The show that Varun mentioned where you get to fly abroad was Jet Set Go that was telecasted on Star One. Raju Srivastav was the host. There were 4 television actresses - Tasneem Sheikh, Kiran Dubey, Gurdeep Kohli, Aashka Goradia(replaced by Shama Sikandar after 8 episodes) who would be in different areas of Mumbai and would go around asking people if they had passport and wanted to go abroad. They had 2 hours to reach airport with luggage only after completing an intermediate task. The girls were also given points based in their timing to reach airport. In the end, the girl with highest points would be winner and would travel abroad as well. Tasneem won the show by winning 12 episodes out of 16 in total. Aaskha was replaced after 8th episode as she scored the lowest after combining scores for first 8 episodes - midway of the series.

Glad you mentioned Black Mirror. My take, the characters in the show portray narcissism... a concept that a lot of people don't recognize unless they've lived through the trauma of it. More often than not, we just look at it as a dark series... within futuristic premises. I see most of the characters as narcissists. Having grown up in an environment that was negative and bullying, and trying to justify it as something I didn't understand... in the past few years I spent a lot of time with people who reached out to me, some of whom I later realized were just trying to prey on my misery. Seeking me out not just because they wanted to feel good about themselves, but to keep me down when they realized I was going through a down phase. And realizations. It's not just others, but even a parent who will feed off your misery and feel victorious over your individuality. Black Mirror is for real.
