I love it! I want to use this in my RV bathroom shower. Tiles weigh too much. I cannot add so much weight to my RV with wall to wall tile + thinset + grout. This looks like a great solution, paired off with lightweight Kerdiboard for waterproofing. What is the prognosis for using this in an RV bathroom? Very few showers and water exposure, but lots of vibrations and movement in RV. I did tile the bathroom floor (not shower) in my RV, and used Polymer in both thinset and grout and not one mosaic tile has popped out in 5 yrs. Clings like glue. I badly want to use this for the shower stall walls (3 sides). Please advise.

In an environment prone to vibrations and movement in walls, a plaster finish is not recommended. When used in a stationary environment, cracks occur during shifts in the ground (ie. earthquakes, or slight tectonic activity) which are very infrequent. If the plaster were to be applied in an RV shower, those cracks would occur much more frequently and would require much more maintenance.

I understand ceiling prevent staining , but it ends that if it was unsealed , it would absorb moisture better..is this correct

Plan change for a shower. Can I use this product over green board that’s been taped and primed in a shower.?

I bought a few of your tadelak color samples. I plan to use this on porcelain tiles in the bathroom. What type of bonding waterborne primer and elastomeric primer should I use? I have some experience with microcement, but not with tadelak and I don't want to make a mistake.

After scuffing the existing tile, we recommend INSL-X STIX for a bonding primer. The following are recommended for the waterproofing elastomeric primer: Laticrete, Hydro Ban, RedGard, DryLock. If you don't use a cleaning agent, how do you clean off soap scum?

A diluted solution of white vinegar and water can be applied to the soapy surface. After its sat for a few moments, use a non-abrasive rag or cloth to wipe the soap away. Hope this helps!

Is Vasari elastomeric primer a waterproofing membrane? Can Laticrete Hydro Ban be used in place of Vasari elastomeric primer?

We wouldn't recommend coating a tile surface without first sanding and applying a latex primer, followed by a plaster primer, then your plaster. Hope this helps!

We would not recommend using a plaster finish in a mobile home. Frequent vibration and movement can lead to many cracks and breaks in the finish, which would compromise the waterproof integrity.

Hello! For tile surfaces (including plastic), we recommend sanding, adding a latex primer, then a plaster primer, and then plaster. Hope this helps!

Why don't you recommend thinseting the mesh tape before waterproofing?

Because thinset will almost always eventually crack through as it cures. You will have hairline cracks that will come though months later. Even if it's really well primed. Thinset is only good for tile. It's possible that some thinsets are less sensitive, but I havent found one yet.

@@countzero9042 If you mix Polymer with the thinset, it rubberizes it. No more cracks. I used it in my RV, and 5 yrs later, not one tile popped out. I also use a polymer in the grout and avoid using a sealant over grout as it is built in.
