Vaseraga Solo [No AI] vs Gallanza & Maglielle in

Saw a few people breaking under 5 mins, decided i'd try my hand at a better run now that I have Supp Vs. Didn't expect to land a world record on my birthday. Few mistakes here and there, so there's potential for a sub 3:50 mins run, but I don't have it in me to give it more retries for now.

@@TeraSlayer This is like getting "world records" by hitting the dummy in MH instead of actually fighting the monsters. Relink might not get the same traction as MH's speedruns but it's still nice to see that some people actually try and run it.

I think dummy vids with optimal sigils are nice to see the absolute ceiling of a character on an unmoving target, but it's true that they won't reflect reality. For example, Percival has better speedrun times than Vas on almost every fight except this one.

@@jamesonedwardsii4943 A lot of things are obtainable with AFK grind in mind. But when you see people with multiple Supp V+, that is a clear sign of cheating. Which the person here does not have.

@@jamesonedwardsii4943 You can clearly see the build isn't hacked/is genuine. It's fully legal. There may be some people that cheat to get good Supp V+, but even for those that do, so long as its legal the speedrun is still genuine. I don't think anyone pretends that Monster Hunter speedruns don't use edited items for example, but this one in particular doesn't have either.

She's usually better left for last as gallanza is the real issue, but Immortal Pain makes gallanza a non issue, and it becomes a game of "can I have enough maglielle patterns where she doesn't move so I can hit both" where ebony's poise secures your undying per annoying phase.

Sorry if weird question, but how does that Nether Wrack tech work? I was under the assumption that we had to absorb damage. Can you just pop it in general and it'll hit max right away?

So the thing is the cap is the same no matter how much damage you absorb or how long you hold it, it caps at 1.8m (a bit above 2m with skill cap up 20% which I don't have yet). Which means, with enough ATK buffs / def debuffs, you can reach 1.8m cap with just a tap of netherwrath, making it a nuke every 1 min. You can see in this vid that I was very far from that cap but still hitting quite high (from 700k to 1.4m), this is mostly due to the Crit Damage V sigil screwing me up damage wise (way worse than Tyranny V, but had no choice to survive this fight). The issue is that the base damage is really low so you need a lot of buffs. Now with Enmity's 72% atk increase at low hp, this isn't as much of a problem solo, but in Coop where it's way harder to keep your hp low (since bosses attack less due to being stunned, and there's forced healing from regen on baha weapon), and you favoring Less is More, it's harder to reach the cap or to justify using 2 skills. I don't have Less is more to experiment with but I did ask players with it to test out a 2 skill setup with netherwrath and undying, awaiting results.

What weapon would you recommend using until you get the boss weapon?

Whichever you prefer really. Stinger is good, so is ascencion. Just ad a lv5 dmg cap imbue on them and you're good to go.

I wish I have the balls to play this guy. I love playing Greatsword in Monster Hunter, so I feel like I will have as much fun playing Vaseraga like I do with Greatsword, but I don't have the balls to live dangerously.

Vaseraga is deceptively safe, and much easier to play than Greatsword. You've got mobility, wide and far reaching swings, permanant super armor, and lots of innate tankiness. Give him a try!

@@Boodendorf just tried him. Currently getting his Terminus weapon to max awakening. I just have to keep an eye out for his buff icon before it expires and retreat and play safely until I can recast the buff. Chonky damage, chonky character, good lunge attack on his x,y combo, I love him.
