But I have to say when (s)he wrote about having it all, the same thought struck me. If those countries could do something about their truly abysmal political and less than optimum economic circumstances I have to say, they would probably be among the most attractive places to live in the world. Unfortunately, I would advise not holding our breaths ...

@@Hobbymusiker84 middle eastern dances are pretty nothing like those from balkans, but also, speaking of balkans, other than a geographical distribution, what more is it really, especially in terms of dances? For example, Greece is in balkans, but especially the second dance in this medley would look a lot closer to an italian dance than to a Bulgarian one, let alone a middle eastern (the resemblance in the latter is literraly zero) Overall, the part that i dont get in your comment is how "middle eastern dances are familiar with his culture"

​@@Chris-xb7gm Middle East, Turkey and the Balkans 😊and to add to your previous comment, the Balkans are to some extent influenced by Middle Eastern culture (dances, food, etc.), even in such a small area dances vary from region to region, even within one country, but in some regions the influence from the Middle Eastern culture is more than in others, therefore certain dances in the Balkans are very close to Middle Eastern ones.

Σαν ιστορικό στοιχείο για την Κερκυραϊκή "Φουρλάνα" αναφέρω ότι είναι παράφραση του "Friulana" με ρίζες από το Friuli της ΒΑ Ιταλίας και αποτελεί επιρροή από την εποχή της Ενετοκρατίας. Αποτελεί σίγουρα όμως παράδοση στα επτάνησα. Εξαιρετική δουλειά Βασίλη σε όλα τα βίντεο !!!

Οπως και οι κανταδες, επισης των Ιονιων νησων, ο μπαλος (περισσοτερο στο Αιγαιο και καποιες περιοχες της νοτιας Ηπειρωτικης), το γαιτανι στη νοτια και δυτικη Ελλαδα κλπ εχουν βενετικες ριζες. Με τον ιδιο τροπο που μεγαλο μερος της παραδοσης της μικρας ασιας εχει αραβικες και περσικες ριζες, ή της βορειας ελλαδας βουλγαρικες. Παντα υπαρχουν επιρροες απο αλλου
