Avery is our Psychic Type rival from the Isle of Armor DLC in Pokemon Shield. He is a failed gym leader, but it makes you wonder, could he take on the gym challenge and become Champion? Time to find out. Oh also, I'm still a wooloo, kind of!

If u need an idea for who u could be with Bea I would say Riolu could work for a frew reasons 1. It has a weird evolution method only evolving by friendship during the day 2. The fighting gym challenger uses a Lucario 3. She respects the one Ash had thats now a Lucario And 4. I believe if she had a mega it would be Mega Lucario as Ash and Korrina have one of their own so Riolu might work for Bea if u go with her

Now I can't help but wonder how well Klara would be able to hold on this challenge. Honestly, on my first playthrough... I hate to admit it but Klara was first one to knock my team out, in the final battle before you get Kubfu. -_-' Her team was surprisingly tough, and her Slowbro's Quick Draw did trigger quite a lot.

I really like the voice acting for Avery and the calm mind water droplets. The exposition was handed much better (plus the joke at 13:21 about Opal and Vasko talking too much). I'm not sure what to think of the daycare incident, but maybe that's just me overthinking. Overall, great job Vasko 👍 Also, I've come to a realization: This is an uncommon (I think) take on the Character became a pokemon trope thing, where said Character didn't cross over the language barrier, joining Pokemon in understanding each other and being unable to be understood by humans.

Elgyem was a nice choice for his sixth Pokemon, I don't recall any other trainer in Galar using the Beheeyem line - same thing happens with my favourite Pokemon Meowstic, but I accept Elgyem because it led to the very funny Abro storyline.

It’s kind of cool how many parallels between them there are. Here are some I’ve noticed: Both grew up in bad conditions, Bede getting taken from his parents and then growing up in an orphanage and Avery growing up in a household where his family called him a disappointment. Both were betrayed by their parental figures, for Avery they were his actual parents when they labeled him a disappointment (and this isn’t cannon but I imagine they either kicked him out or sent him away after he lost they gym, since the whole tradition thing seemed pretty important to them after reading the league cards) and Bede when Rose kicked him to the curb. Both were taken in and mentored by elders to become gym leaders, which they both succeed in, even if Avery is only a minor league gym leader at the end of the game. They both favor the psychic type. Even though Bede turned to fairy types he still uses psychic types on his team, one of them being rapidash, a Pokémon Avery also has on his team. They have similar personalities, though Avery makes an effort to be polite at first while Bede has a much shorter temper and doesn’t hold back.

Only when he truly works hard calm his mind, stop relaying on raw powers and finally in control and improve as a trainer.
