That AAFREEN (Raafreen) sound is not a mix or processing issue, so, in urdu, when one word comes twice and it makes the sound of a vowel (a,e,i,o,u), the style of expression changes. So that is how the word was SAID. Also, it doesn't make RAFREEN sound, if you listen carefully, it's still AAFREEN. Just the end of AFREEN word becomes a little higher in pitch.

in urdu we pronounce some words ending with N sometimes like Afreen and also Afree in same song he pronounced some other words like gumaan as gumaa. yakeen as yakee. you will notice thin eeeee sound in afree word ending when he is not pronouncing it as Afreen so in urdu words like Afreen Yakeen Gumaan Asmaan you can also pronounce it as Asmaa Gumaa Afree Yakee there comes Noon Guna instead of Noon in urdu N words have two letters Noon and Noon Gunna. Noon sounds fully like Afreen and Noon Gunna sound Like Afree but when we write it in English script we write it as Afreen in both manners because people who speaks urdu will understand where to say Afree and Afreen i hope you understand because its really hard to explain its very complicated thing

you are right about Afreen afreen, actually urdu ma Noon ki awaz silent hojati hai kuch jaga par.... I mean voice of N , to woh Afree ban jata but kuch jaga for the sake of song he has to say hard N , so both are right, you can say its a way of pronoounciation that word Afreen.

Great analysis! Here's my take on why you might be hearing "afree Rafree". In order to sing the phrase "afreen afreen" in one breath, you need some sort of consonant to blend the "ee" at the end of the first word with the "aa" at the start of the second word. By default he is using a "y" sound for this. Meaning it sounds like "aafree yaafree" most of the time. In some places he is switching to a hard "N" instead, so it sounds like "aafree Naafree" instead in those places. I think both are valid. If you notice, the phrase "afreen afreen" occurs in different melodies. The switch to the 'N' sound always comes in one particular place, probably because using 'N' makes it easier to emphasize that high note.
