Show is also available wherever you get your podcasts.

ABOUT THE GIVEAWAY
As Ken mentioned on the show, we’re giving away two gloves, both signed by Vasyl Lomachenko and Teddy Atlas.
One will be given to a random KZbin subscriber.
One will be given to our favorite review on Apple Podcasts.
- When leaving review in Apple Podcasts please be sure to put your full name in the comment so that we can make sure we’re getting the signed glove to the right person.
We’ll select winners on Thursday March 21. We’ll announce them on the next podcast and on Teddy’s social media handles. Good luck!
MORE DETAIL ON THE SHOW
Teddy Atlas and co-host Ken Rideout record this episode once again from Oxnard, CA where Teddy is in training camp with his fighter Oleksandr “Alex” Gvozdyk, the WBC Light Heavyweight Champion.
After some discussion of camp, like how Teddy selects and works with Alex’s sparing partners (10:54), the two dive into the recent deal between Tyson Fury and ESPN/Top Rank/Bob Arum and what it means for future fights in the heavyweight division (22:20). Teddy shares what the sport of boxing would need to do to really give fans the fights they want (37:15).
Later, Vasyl Lomachenko and his manager Egis Klimas join the show (1:02:08). Loma covers everything from getting into boxing as a child, his relationship with his father, the switch from amateurs to pros, overcoming the controversial loss to Orlando Salido in his second pro bout, his mental exercises with sports psychologist, thoughts on trash talking, what makes him different from fighters like Gervonta Davis, and more.
For background, Lomachenko is the current unified lightweight world champion. Prior, he held the WBO featherweight and junior lightweight world titles between 2014 and 2018 before moving up to lightweight. He is also a 2x Olympic Gold Medalist.
**NOTE: Ken mistakenly says that Loma won his third world title in just his third professional fight. He meant to say, Loma won his FIRST world title in just his third professional fight. No one has done this in fewer fights, and Loma is only the second person ever to do it in three fights. (Tied with Saensak Muangsurin, a Thai boxer who fought in the 1970s.)
Egis Klimas is the manager to Lomachenko, but also manager to WBC Light Heavyweight Champ Oleksandr “Alex” Gvozdyk, Unified Cruiserweight World Champion Oleksandr Usyk, WBO Light Heavyweight Champ Sergey Kovalev, and other top fighters.
Thanks to John Summerford for the video production and sound editing.
Big thanks to VHS collection for intro music. More on VHS Collection here: www.vhscollection.com/.

I love hearing Loma talk.. Very Respectful, Very Humble🙂 Always makes me feel great 🇺🇦 When you watch a fighter, and they show respect you think "good sportsman".. if a fighter does that, and is humble you think "down to earth. Smart guy" .. THEN if a fighter ACHIEVES alot AND is respectful also humble... Thats a real *Legend* .. Loma represents a Legend perfectly. Because of the way he is, when i cheer for Loma or write support for Loma, im not just simply* wanting his opponents to be beat.. im showing support for a Legend just following their passion, doing what they love.. Respect for #TEAMLOMA Forever 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🙂

What Teddy says at the end about Loma making top fighters quit, about making them lose in their minds and loose hope is so true IMO and demonstrates how boxing is more mental than physical because even in the physical training of boxing you are training your mind for diffferent aspects of the competition: resistance, reaction, mental satability calm under pressure, dominating your emotions.

As a new boxing coach it's not often that we get to hear a coach of teddys calibre speaking so openly and as often about boxing. I almost feel likes it's a privilege getting so much of him and his knowledge through the PC. Keep up the great work guys.

This podcast is helpful for two very particular propositions. First, Teddy is a living legend and one of the most erudite boxing minds of any age. Second, the podcast is premised on intellectual integrity. Ken and Teddy are committed to having transparency and truth, certainly as they understand the truth as they understand it, as foundational to the programming. It is the premier boxing program available to hard core and to casual fans alike. Great job guys!

Thank you to everyone working on the show 🙌 Shout out to Teddy’s kids for pushing him to make a twitter and KZbin channel 👏 I’m not saying this to win the gloves (though that would be dope 😏) I genuinely love this channel and instantly subscribed when I saw Teddy 👊

@Jon Doe Lol Teddy is pretty polarizing similar to Max Kellerman. Though they do entirely different things. Well that's not totally true. Teddy could call a fight as well as Max but Max coulnd't train anyone for shit I'm sure. ANNNYWAY I'm sure there will be more interesting guests from the world of boxing to come in the future.
