I bought one and have being playing with it for about a month. I have it dialed in at 9 oz all the weight in the handle which changes the balance point and helps with maneuverability. Coming from the Joola Hyperion, your review was spot on great job. Although I do thing it has more power than the Hyperion, maybe the extra weight gives it a little more plow through. I'm ordering more , it's a really great paddle. Very happy with it. Thanks

Great review! I have one on order based on your discord communities' feedback and recommendation. I plan on adding a little lead tape to the Flash to give it that extra little plow through, but not a ton to make it to heavy. It's nice starting with a lower swing weight and moving up till you hit the perfect balance. At this price point, I can buy 2 for the price of 1 $200 variety, which should mean the carbon fiber will last twice as long if I rotate them in evenly. Keep up the great reviews!

So I’ve been using a Joola Hyperion CFS for the past 9 months exclusively, and I used a Vatic Pro Prism Flash for 3 hours last night. Immediately noticed that it felt more poppy than the Hyperion, which is funny considering how much Chris emphasized it’s lack of pop. Compared to a Hyperion it’s definitely got more pop. Overall was very impressed with the Vatic though. More spin than the Hyperion, similar sweet spot, and similar off center forgiveness. Just going to have to get used to the quicker feel in the hands and the extra pop, but I think it’s a great paddle, regardless of the price.

Hey Chris. Congrats on your recent (Prism)tourney results. I really appreciate your dedication and paddle reviews. I'm just 3 months into my PB addiction and loving my weighted and over gripped Vatic Pro V7. My twist weight seems solid as possible with the weights, as deflection is minimized. I try my best to be in ready position after every shot to make up for any slower paddle speed at this weight.The weight for me is quite manageable, I'm athletic, 62, 5' 11" and 185lbs. I ordered the new Pro line Energy from pickleballapes ($135)for the longer grip after watching JK's review a couple days ago, as I want to try the 2 handed BH and hope it offers a bit more power than my V7. Will you be testing this (PB apes PL Energy)paddle anytime soon? Happy pickling.

I bought both the Prism models to compare & contrast... Found that I prefer the Prism V7 shape & larger sweet spot, and more "tipped" balls with the Prism Flash... Both paddles feel REALLY solid though, and no regrets on either, especially at the discounted price... Solid feel, massive spin (use the discount dollars to buy a paddle cleaner, because you WILL have a ton of ball "fuzz" buildup - my Gruvn's dont generate a quarter of the "fuzz" buildup and the spin is good with them, but is EXCEPTIONAL with the Prisms) and both Vatic Prisms are now my preferred first line paddles... One cannot beat the performance & build quality for the price.... Your mileage may vary....

Thanks for the review video Chris - excellent as always. I picked up the Prism Flash last month using your promo code and it is my regular paddle along with a Ronbus R2.16. I still play with 6 other paddles on a regular basis, to keep my brain challenged (at 70, brain flexibility/exercise is more important than winning). Have you considered an episode about EVA core paddles? I bought a Hudef Newera and use it when playing in the morning because it is a lower frequency at impact (hopefully perceived as quieter) - as a control player the extra power is not a plus for me because I hit the ball out a lot and I don't want folks to think that I'm hitting hard at them. The sound factor is becoming more important to me ... have you ever tried an open cell foam ball (think Nerf ball)?
@lesterma1608 Жыл бұрын
I have that Eva paddle and I’m just getting it dialed in, as you probably know having the strange sound and cardboard box feel is not easy to get used too. But now I can control the power and the spin is incredible, everyone says the spin is so curved it does s turns in the air on serves, stay with it as it’s taken me a few months to make it work, but I usually use 5 different paddles a week and maybe 2-3 per day!

Former college tennis player. Been using the V7 and Ronbus R3 pulsar for about 3 weeks now. Lots of training with both of them. I give the nod to the V7 by a hair (but I will play with both of them, depending on my needs). I like the just a tad longer shape of the V7, and the sweet spot…I have mine weighted at the throat and it’s a perfect all around paddle. Since I hit top spin, flat, backspin, it works for everything. I would say the only thing that makes it better than the R3 Pulsar is the sweet spot. And if I’m off from the sweet spot at all, I can usually still stay in the point, where the R3 I really need to make center mass contact each time. Coming from tennis, I learned a long time ago that the racket absolutely doesn’t make the player. As anything with a crazy price tag is geared toward a very small change in playing style and one that unless you have a very high rating, most people honestly can’t tell a difference…so simply buy a middle of the road paddle and just get good with it….

You asked for feedback on how important price points are. I am willing to pay more (within reason) for quality. However, customer service and warranty have become more important to me in the past 6-months as I see how quickly and efficiently some companies react to issues with paddles soon after they were purchased (edge guards, core crushing, delamination, etc). The fact that some companies put the onus on the consumer to pay for returning a paddle still under warranty and take their time getting it back to you is enough to turn me away from buying anything from them ever again.

I played with Rogue 2’s for years, they are very good paddles, especially the new carbon fiber ones and helped me a lot with tennis elbow. I would say they compared very favorably with everything that was out 1+ year ago, but just can not compete with the new thermoformed paddles with the raw t700 carbon fiber. The better newer generation paddles just have better sweet spots, more spin, and more power.
@joem6010 Жыл бұрын
I agree with everything Jeff just said. I switched from a Carbon Rogue 2 Max to the Vatic V7 and it was a huge upgrade for me. Now I am testing out the Flash (thermoformed) to see if I prefer the added hand speed over the added reach of the V7. The Rogue 2 has a somethat thin core, but has notably less power than any of the current thermoformed paddles. I found it much more playable adding a fair amount of lead tape around the lower 2/3 of the paddle. At this point in time I don't see a lot of reason to get a Rogue given the price point and performance. A Vatic Prism (Flash or V7) would be a better performing paddle for even less $.

Chris, just remember that twist weight is only a measurement of MOI about a paddle's vertical axis. As such, it's only indicative of the effective sweetspot's width with absolutely zero correlation to the sweetspot's length. You can't really say a paddle with a higher twist weight has a larger effective sweetspot; you can only say that the effective sweetspot will be wider.

sounds great - too bad you can't return it if you don't like it! "All items must be new/unused and contain all original packaging (including plastic wrap)" WTH! Not even a demo to rent?? Not willing to lose $100 if I don't like it!
