What a wonderful trip. It was so great to see the Vatican sights once again. I was lucky enough to be in Rome for a Choir performance 4 years ago and our choir performed in the Basilica on the first celebration feast of St. John Paul II. It is a mass I will never forget and your trip is allowing me to wallow in those memories. Look forward to the rest. I hope you go to Assisi. I loved it more than Rome.

I really love these vacation vlogs. I've been to Rome two times and I just love the city. Last time I went in July of 2017, in the middle of a heatwave so wearing long pants was horrible so my friends and I brought along long skirts in our backpacks to put over our shorts when going into a church/chapel.

Crystal Boven You can see the Pope every Wednesday and Sunday at the Vatican! St Peter’s Square is always full of thousands of pilgrims, worshippers and curious travelers on those day! Really cool time to visit.

Ah no not at all. Rome is an interesting place because you will find many ‘pilgrimages’ - as in people traveling from far away to see sacred places. That’s what I meant by pilgrims (from the word pilgrimage). Wednesdays - when the Pope addresses the public during his PapalAudience is a day full of crowds who come from all over the world to hear the Angelus. Rome has numerous sacred sites and many religious processions and gatherings dedicated to such sites. It’s quite a beautiful thing to see. Here’s another fun fact about St Peter’s Square - it’s colonnades are built to resemble outstretched arms, to welcome (open-armed) travelers and pilgrims from all over. And that is just what it does 😊 Happy to answer any other questions!

That looked a real once in a lifetime experience, I love that they are so good at including the children in the museums and art galleries so something that could quickly become boring is an adventure and you get treasure at the end (hope you have enough room in the one suitcase for all these gifts, free toiletries and tea sachets. I'm watching in 2020 because quarantine :/ thought I'd share my inner commentary while watching the vlog because that's how much I've loved this!! I just got so excited because @ 4:32 there's a shot of the statue Lacoon and His Sons! I'm in college minoring in art history so this is so cool to me that you guys saw it in person! It almost feels like I was there too! I'm LIVING for Jessica's crash course in frescos and Bailey's Sistine Chapel lesson! also the PIETA?! Fun fact: Michelangelo placed the Pieta in the middle of town one night and it was credited to one of his competitors. Michelangelo didn't like that so he went back and carved his signature into Mary's sash! My jaw is DROPPING watching the street artist!!!! His work is beautiful! Who knew a blow torch could make such cool paintings? There's a restaurant that invented fettuccine alfredo?!?!?!? baby Duncan makes it even better xD and the music at the end was so sweet! of course, Duncan was too with his cute dance
