It's not that incredible, the quality of shots that vatira produces can't be too high since he has to constantly stay on the ball. It's more like staying focused on saving easy shots and conserving your boost well on the long term

Daniel is such an interesting player because he can do both of these playstyles at the highest level. He can either out-mechanic a player if he realizes they just can't keep up, or he can just turn into boost management and positioning God if he realizes his opponent can't get past him. One of the best players on the planet.

I feel like at some point the aggressive playstyle just isn't worth it. If you're constantly just chasing you become super predictable and against a smart player like Daniel even the mixups become predictable or at least manageable. They're obviously both good and Vatira made this way harder than it had to be with the server choices but I think this was just a style mismatch.

Vatira messed up his attacks, that was the main issue. He defended Daniel quite well and gained possession a lot. But his attacks were frankly weak for his standards. This playstyle would actually won him the game if he didn't fumble the offense so much.

Daniel's defense lately has been insane. I think his 1v1 vs yan opened his eyes and he started focusing on clinically defending shots over regaining with mechanics. Seems to be playing smarter over brute forcing goals

Idk I think Daniel kinda downloaded him after the first half of the first game and then played loose on game 4 and back to his winning strat game 5. He just knew to let vatira lose himself it seemed.

Seems opposite to me. Vatira lost the game on his own with weak offense. Missing open nets. But vatira downloaded daniel - he found a way to shut down daniels aerial offense, found a way to claim possession for a vast majority of the games they played, and if he could just show up mechanically with the offense, daniel was losing plain as day. I mean the games were incredibly close, daniel somhow clawed a win but several games would be considered "throws" from vatira.

Daniel is a very smart adaptive mechanical player. He can change his style for different players. Difference is Zen is just a mechanical monster, he has the brains, but he doesn't really change much because of those monstrous mechanics. He's also much flashier and a little more consistent and unpredictable with them. I think if you had a rematch between these two, Zen and Daniel, the results would be different.
