Vaude, refers to the sound of the alfabetic VD in german. As Vau Dé. VanDooren...which is the directors name of the tent building compagny.

I still have the original Vaude hogan (late 80s) and the only problem has been replacing the elastic tags inside and the bungee outside due to stretching over time - oh, and one of the pole sections split...but I'm still using it with no problem. Fantastic tent. Easily stood up to a full gale in the Isle of White - not sure how the new UL versions would do? And even with the older materials used, is still under 3 kg.

Any tent that does not have sleeves for the poles is a winner. This is why I rate the cloud peak 2. Looks a good design except for the vents ?

Definitely my favourite tent. Only been out in it twice so far. Its heftier to lug about but I still think it packs down well and the weight is worth the comfort

All tents should come with the required number of pegs, if they don’t then we should return them and send a message.. too many companies now send out unfinished products, not enough pegs, not seam sealed etc and then offer it as a service for £50 😱 absolute con I avoid those companies like the plague

That's good thinking. I think here in the UK we just accept things when they are not ideal and put up with it! They would all soon change if we let them know we won't stand for it

and don't forget we now have to buy footprints for most tents, whereas in the 90s they just made tents with thick enough floors to handle it.

I think you'd regret selling it. I love mine, and they're not that easy to come by now. They are great as a 4 season tent, as like you said, the low to the ground fly and solid inner and chunky poles are good for winter. even though Vaude sell them as 3 season tents. Probably 3+ season would describe them best.

Hmm I'd say this one for warmth and water resistance. Or cloud peak for spaciousness and strength

Please paint your fence Adam. It was all I could think about when watching this, haha sorry mate, I just can't help myself. I can't decide whether or not I like this tent, actually come to think of it I don't think I do. The pegs are enough of an issue to make me not buy one, I mean 6 pegs when it needs 15... Its like buying a car with 1 wheel. Hate companies who do that. No ventilation as well, nah no thanks I'll stick with my Helm1

I've got the same tent, I love everything about it for winter camps, it handles the wind and rain no problem and the fly goes down low enough to stop snow blowing under. The only thing I don't like is pole that comes down and sticks out above the entrance...I put a plastic bottle top over it with blu-tac as I've come close to having it take my eye out a couple of times! 😂

Best my tents are from Vaude. I used Kovea tent, Vango tent, but Vaude is the best. I have 3 vaude tents, 2 of them almost 10-15 yers old, but still like new. And I want buy 1 more Vaude tent. My Vaude backpacks (3 pieces) are best bags, also I have Lowe alpine, Deuter and North face, but Vaude are the best
