At my close school friend's ma, she was a total legend..not a dry eye in the house...her husband (ex army, fit as, always.) passed less than 6 months later. He literally could not live without her. Will always be their music...

This is an amazing performance! One of my favorite renditions. I did not notice at first it was a children's orchestra.

These kids are wonderful! And every time I hear Nicky Benedetti play 'The Lark' I just melt, tears flowing down my cheeks in silent joy. Never, never, was anything so beautiful.

But it would be good to get rid of the gender-specific clothes. I wonder how many kids in there feel uncomfortable wearing or their skirts or their pants?
@austinhackney39062 жыл бұрын
Just one talented kid who quit because they felt the 'skirt' or the 'trousers' wasn't right for them would be too many, wouldn't it?

Brings me back to my childhood in the big hay field out the back of our farmhouse here in Ireland and watching the lark ascending until he was only a tiny dot in the sky and then come free falling back down to earth. The magic of his song. Beautiful.

For me, this is a supreme video. Nicola Benedetti is a great violinist and is accompanied by a children's orchestra that is as good as any adult orchestra.

Hi Sara, Thanks for watching our video! We are the National Children's Orchestras of Great Britain. We run 6 full symphonic orchestras for young musicians in the UK, aged 7-14 years old. Nicola Benedetti is actually an alumni of NCO (she started her 'violin career' with NCO at a very young age), and she is now one of our Vice-Presidents. We are extremely lucky to still have a close relationship with her, and hope to offer more performance opportunities for our young members to play with Nicola. Best wishes, The NCO Team

Just so visualising of the Larks undulating flight, caught in the late rays of the sun as it sinks towards the horizon, and the lark descends to the ground and shelter ! Such an accomplished young orchestra , thank you so very much!!

This longer version is so much better then the 4 + minute version. Not to say the shorter version is not outstanding too.

A look on the banner that's hung at the back of the stage or a single click on the channel's name will tell you that it's the National Children's Orchestra of Great Britain.
