Vaughners Custom Orbs

Cool concepts! I think the cancel jump orb (the teal one) has the astronomical gameplay potential! The yellow dash orb is cool as well, it introduces a unique way to read the level I feel. Rob seems interested in adding it to the game, but I'd really prefer the cancel jump orb if I had to choose one.

i came up with the same concept for a megacollab part a couple years back its cool to see a much better implementation of it from what i understand its meant to be a velocity reset orb. it, like, resets the speed you are falling at when you interact with it

I think you can do it with a dash orb and s blocks, or triggers with 2.2 like stopping all momentum

Dual and single orbs are very unnecessary, and the other makes you go ina. Wave pattern is really weird and seems to be different every time it is used which would make sight reading impossible yellow dash orb and mint(turqoise?) orb are the only really good ones, and they are REALLY good ideas though.

I agree with the dual orbs being unnecessary, they just ended up being fun to mess with. As far as the wavy dash goes, the orb telegraphs whether or not you start going up or down, and the frequency changes depending on your speed - it is kind of hard to use well without S blocks though

Yep, that's how the orb behaves, although if you implement it like that then you aren't able to buffer-click

yellow dash orb was makeable along time ago, just place a bunch of pads of how high you want it to jump in the path of the orb for the other ones, place a trigger orb, make it invis and place down an options trigger with a group which the white orb triggers sorry but this is easy to make, no need to hype a meh-at-most to make gimmick.

That goes for many orbs already in the game. The point of making them official is to standardize how they're done and make them widely accessible to creators. I don't think all of these should become official, but the cancel jump orb has so much potential I think it would be a great addition.

I had the same concern when I was coming up with them, but I think OmegaFalcon explained it perfectly. Also, even though these can be created with existing mechanics, the process of setting that up can be tedious in some cases, and it would come off as more of a gimmick then a mechanic.

Its just convenient for the creator. You also can just put a yellow orb in a gravity portal or put a blue orb in a gravity portal. Want it to be bufferable? Just offset the portal a bit. These concepts were executed really well but If they were actually in the game they would work even better. Ik that the other 2 comments already explained it but I wanted to throw my points in.
