What I like about DDD is that is focuses on understanding and modelling the domain and business logic - Instead of programmers focusing on code and structure first and in the process forgetting the Use Cases and the project as a whole. DDD prescribes to you the patterns that help you direct your efforts into doing what is essential to the product.
