Very helpful video. Just done mine having lost all pedal pressure and unable to change gear. Job went pretty well on the whole. Got lucky with bleeding it. Just opened the nipple kept the reservoir topped up and let it drain through for about 15 seconds,nipped it back up and everything worked fine.

@drivewaydiyer65042 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I’d have a good pedal, then it would disappear in the morning, so I’d pump the pedal by hand, and it would come back. No sign of leaks , I pinpointed the MC, because of the looseness of the mc plunger. I paid 60 quid for an LUK one.

@@drivewaydiyer6504 Thanks for the quick reply. Nice details--very helpful. I don't have any leaks either so that's good to know you didn't. My clutch engages near the bottom of the pedal range. First thing , was I lost reverse and third gear, it was two broken prongs on the clutch plate, it happened out the blue , no warning. Did you swap your flywheel, mine didn’t need doing, which looking back, I think it did, as I have the odd slip when it’s damp. A lot of models have DMF’s , so might be worth checking that. The master cylinder affected my pedal , as I’d keep losing pressure, pretty sure that was a flipped seal.

Question, my friction plate wont disengage when pedal is fully depressed. Flywheel, friction plate, pressure plate and concentric slave + bearring are replaced 2 months ago and have done 2500miles with them without any problem. The problem started occuring when a friend of mine launched my car from a standstill and wanted to shift to 2nd. I've checked the shifting mechanism, bleeded but none worked. In first gear with clutch pedal depressed to the floor and accelerating the car creeps forward when close to redline. The slave cylinder moves out instantly when I'm depressing the clutch pedal, also it doesn't slip What i did notice is the level in the clutch resevoir is decreasing when the pedal is depressed and raises again when releasing (no leaks under the car or at the pedal)
@drivewaydiyer65043 жыл бұрын
Who replaced the clutch, is it under warranty? It sounds like there’s probably internal damage. Could be the clutch cover. The fact that the car was launched, could have caused something. Could be spring or prong broken. If it’s under warranty, I’d take it back. Could be the master cylinder, letting air in there. Might be worth swapping that out and bleeding it again. If there’s no leaks, then it’s either mechanical or drawing air in.
@Grandpasaab3 жыл бұрын
@@drivewaydiyer6504 Its not under warranty since i replaced it :) The clutch it self has warranty. Like i said the fluid in my resevoir lowers when depressing the pedal and raises when releasing the pedal. I asked a fellow saab 9-3 rider to check if his does the same. His fluid remains no matter if he depresses or releases.
