My 1960 ford taunus 17m p2 has the two pedal control, using solenoids & vacuum to operate the clutch, the system works perfectly, a design feature well ahead of its time in my opinion. Brilliant set of videos!

Hi, Thanks for your post. I cant find any record of your model being offered with two pedal control. Is it Newton Drive or a similar product? I know there was Taunomatic automatic transmission but not two pedal control.
@MrSofakinggreat3 жыл бұрын
@@VauxhallVictorMan it was marketed as 'saxomat' two pedal control.

It looks like the same product but hard to tell if it is. Thanks again. Alford & Alder produced Newton Drive so there maybe a label on one of the parts that would prove it.

I always liked the looks of that series of Taunus. The car resembled a shrunken 1955 - 1956 USA Ford with 1956 Mercury side trim.

Glad you enjoyed it. I never owned a 1961 model. I think they spoiled the design and that rear window....well....

VERY INFORMATIVE FROM THE VAUXHALL MAN IE "IT'S THAT MAN AGAIN"

Thanks Topper. I missed out the Radiator Blind, Safety Belts, Door Tread Plates and the Hubcap Medallions.

A bit late but just remembered there was also a Venetian Blind Kit available for the rear window. There was just the one kit for all models but I reckon it would look rather lost on the 1961's huge rear screen.

Just a quicky. The Series 2 Exterior Sunvisor was five shillings dearer than the one for the Series One. Add the cost of painting and this proved to be an expensive accessory. Maybe that's why it is so rare.

I got a clock from Mexico and it’s beautiful but nobody can provide me with the installation instructions:( for my f1
@VauxhallVictorMan2 жыл бұрын
Hi Charles. Well done in getting a clock. Having never had a clock I never got hold of the instructions. However you will find that above the interior mirror there will be predrilled holes in the roof membrane for the clock to screw to. There is also a single wire already there for the clock to connect to. I think Neil Bonner may have the instructions. Contact him via the Vauxhall Victor Club

@@VauxhallVictorMan hi Paul, I sent you an email by the way. Would you happen to have a photo of the clock in place?
@VauxhallVictorMan2 жыл бұрын
I never got your email. As for a photo of the clock, I cant help you with that either. When I was heavily involved with the cars the opportunity to get a clock never presented itself. However, all is not lost. We here in the UK have a national rally every July. There are bound to be cars with clocks there. I will also be producing a video for youtube on it. I will include a clock and hope fully someone there will have the fitting instructions. So be patient and I'll do my best for you.

I made an error when I said the reversing lights are the same as the 1961 PA front sidelights when they are actually from the earlier cars.
@andrewfayers91472 жыл бұрын
They differ in that as sidelamps for the early/mid PA they hold a 6W bayonet bulb, and as reversing lamps, a 21W standard size bayonet bulb.
