@Pat Morac No, I saw it in Brisbane in 1976. I think that because Nell was on the show, they just said it was in the charts. It was long gone from the charts by 1981.

@Pat Morac All the rage yes, charting...probably not. Every year kids in primary school discover the Rocky Horror Show. I saw it in my local video shop every Friday night in the late 80's. Kids having sleep over parties seeing the video case and talking about things that they had heard about it. It's more a right of passage than a chart climber.

@Pat Morac Which charts? Countdown charts did not reflect actual sales, it was about promoting record company push. In 1980 Kiss were washed up in America after three disastrous album releases, yet Countdown promoted them as the biggest band in the world right before their first Australian tour. That's why I put no faith in the Countdown top ten.

@@billsmith6884 The song genuinely did chart in 1980. I remember I had the 7" single (Interfusion label) bought for me as a young kid. Don't know why the delay it's charting. These days INXS and Fleetwood Mac amongst other's pop up in the charts from time to time, these days based on downloads sadly.

It was re-released, Brainiac. They do that with hit songs from time to time.
