@@WT4T Can you pair ETS dry air filter with Perrin's intake pipe? I bought the Perrin because it's the only one deemed safe without a tune but it's so heavily oiled I don't want to risk fouling up the MAP sensor.

@eddievanich the ets filter is on like a 6" velocity stack flange so it won't work on the Perrin intake. Why not just get a tune?

@WT4T11 ай бұрын
If only there was time and a budget for that. It would be pretty silly though as unless any of those other ones are 3in and have a velocity stack they're not going to be better than the ETS.
@william322810 ай бұрын
According to subispeed AEM beat out ETS which beat Perrin.
@WT4T10 ай бұрын
@william3228 I've tuned quite a few AEM. Zero chance once tuned it's better. Untuned it's all which tricks the ecu into thinking it's flowing less (but not too much less) airflow which isn't a fair comparison of actual power gains since you really MUST tune the car for any intake you install.
@chrischarles921811 ай бұрын
Nice test! I guess the larger diameter kind of helped the ETS up top as expected.

@WT4T11 ай бұрын
From looking at it probably very close to the Perrin.
@JordieG811 ай бұрын
I don’t like where the MAF is placed on the Perrin. The air is going to want to hug the long side radius as velocity increases and there isn’t much room for it to equalize after is straightens out before it hits the MAF. Still, it seems like you were able to get a decent result on the scaling.
@WT4T11 ай бұрын
Digital frequency MAF's are so much better than old 0-5v mafs however it still definitely had a little oddness that the ETS did not.
@JordieG811 ай бұрын
@@WT4T agreed, they’re definitely more forgiving. Still, I would like to see as ideal possible when it comes to airflow stability over the sensor. But in the end #fulltimeclosedloop!

@JerryNeutron11 ай бұрын

@WT4T11 ай бұрын
From a thermal standpoint bigger tmic is just going to give you more heatsoak to overcome and because it's on the top of the motor heatsoak is all it's going to do.. Due to the low mount turbo design of these cars fmic is just superior in EVERY way.

Just a random question not related to your video per say. What kind of dyno numbers could someone expect from a dyno tune with the following mods, ETS intake, ETS J pipe, ETS Catback Extreme Exhaust, ETS Front Mount Intercooler, and an E60 tune? Also a IAG AOS.

@CRMAG8711 ай бұрын
@@WT4T last dumb question. Why do you think that ets has been the only company to make a bigger intake over the others? Seems like you do get top end from that but reliability is also key for most?
@WT4T11 ай бұрын
@CRMAG87 the issue is "tune required" vs just run it. Ets has a solution for that as well, with the removable intranasal internal sleeve.
@Kopernicus6711 ай бұрын
The oil on that Perrin intake! You cannot tell me that won't pull through with the turbo sucking at full blast! I'm going with either AEM or ETS. If I get the ETS, I'm going with a dry filter to replace their oiled. The Perrin gets really expensive if you want what the ETS gives you from the start. Add the heat shield, inlet to the Perrin makes it more expensive than the ETS and heat shield.
@WT4T11 ай бұрын
Yeah, I'm really not a big fan of the oil.

I would be interested in seeing the new AMS intake tested. Personally, I have a Process West Intake and it has been great so far (Protuned of course). I believe the Perrin and AEM use the same or about the same size MAF as the stock intake/airbox. PW uses a 72mm MAF and I am not sure what size the ETS is but it is bigger than stock for sure. I believe the stock MAF size will definitely be more of a restriction up top and even more so with Turbo upgrades and more/better flow.

If they send me one I'll stack it up against the ETS.
