Girl you need to come to New Zealand. VBAC is normal over here. Unless you have medical complications you will first try a VBAC. It's almost impossible to schedule a CSec or an induction! We have very normalised births over here with Midwife's and you only see an OB if there are complications! It's fabulous!

Freckles Mason my niece was a scheduled c-section, my nephews labour failed to progress so she had to have a c-section. My niece however didn't agree with the date of the scheduled c-section and it happened sooner, but in certain cases they do schedule c-sections. I know she had pre-eclampsia with my nephew too, I think may have with my niece but I can't remember. But I'm glad that its definitely not like over there and much easier to do a VBAC given the right circumstances, only not an option if its really not a good idea.

Im a healthcare worker from malaysia. Its the same here in our gov hospitals. Deliveries are handled by midwives and junior doctors. The obgyn only attends to high risk deliveries and lscs. All elective lscs must fulfil set criterias and emergency ones will need to be justified during the morning passover in front of the whole dept. Nobody is allowed to be trigger happy where lscs is concerned.

Pineapple put me into labor! But only because I ate a ton of it. I was 38 weeks and ate nearly 3/4 of an entire pineapple and went for a mile long hike/walk. Pineapple contains a type of proteolytic enzyme, bromelain that helps soften the cervix and induces labor. So with all your preterm contractions, watch the amount you eat :) Looking good. Getting excited for you!!!

I had emergency csection with our first and had epidural vaginal delivery (our hospitals rule for first vbac) with our second and completely natural delivery with our third! It was such an amazing experience! I was up and showered before they could move me to my other room. It was so wonderful! We have been so truly blessed and grateful for such protection and grace during pregnancies and deliveries so far!

I'm so glad you are doing a VBAC. I have 4 kids. My first natural no epidural but I was given meds through IV. My second was an induction do to me having health issues that I didn't know I was having, which ended in a c-section. My third and four were both VBAC's but #3 I had an epidural and #4 was completely unmedicated, no epidural. I tell people all the time that if I had the experience with my fourth child with my first. Then I would have done it this way from day 1. My recovery with the c-section was very hard and painful and my recovery with my last baby was so much easier and hardly any pain. Good luck on your labor and delivery when it comes time to have your sweet baby girl. My first born (boy) was born in one hospital. My second and third born (both girls) were born in another hospital and by the same OB. My fourth child (boy) was born in another hospital and I used a midwife. My fourth child is 17 months.

My plan last time was to attempt a VBAC. My first baby was a very big baby with a big beautiful head that didn't descend into my pelvis. When I was pregnant with my second, I waited out labor until about 41 weeks, but labor was nowhere to be seen and I ended up scheduling my c-section. My second baby wasn't quite as big, but she did have meconium fluid and I was thankful to have her delivered. I wasn't the greatest candidate for a VBAC to be successful since I'd never had a vaginal birth.

I am so glad you got to have the vbac that you wanted. I am very surprised the protocol is so different hospital to hospital in western Washington. I am 34 weeks right now, and almost right away from the first appointment they were very strongly pushing me toward a Vbac at UWMC. I delivered vaginally my first, c-section with my second(because first baby had shoulder dystocia being 10lbs 4oz), and I am attempting a vbac with my third in a few weeks. Almost every appointment they have wanted to make sure I was still going to try for a Vbac and showing all the supporting information to me about how high chances of success are. Way to go for advocating for yourself. I followed your pregnancy in large part because I knew that I was going to attempt a vbac and I wanted to see how your journey went! So awesome.

My VBAC turned 2 yesterday 😍 I encourage you not to have any vaginal examinations before labour. They are unnecessary as you could go from 0cm dilated to 10cm in min/hrs. Stand your ground with what you want, if you want to have wireless monitoring and stay up right then let them know as you know what is best for you body. Goodluck! You can do it! xx

I am not 35 weeks pregnant, I am currently only 32 weeks with my first baby, but a friend of mine posted a video of yours from your pregnancy with the twins, I got interested and had started watching all of the videos from your twins pregnancy. (Keep in mind that this was only about a week or two prior to me finding out I was pregnant with my son) Then once I had found out I was pregnant, I had been watching your vlogging channel and then found out you were pregnant with you little girl and were only a few weeks ahead of me. I have been watching you channel ever since and comparing your stats and mine, our symptoms, and getting to listen to what will be going on with my baby, when I get to the week you are posting about. I can't wait to see your little girl happy and healthy, congratulations on your little girl!

I had a successful vbac to a baby girl 4 months ago. I had triplets at 26 weeks via csection, my daughter passed a week after birth but we were blessed with healthy twin boys. God decided to bless us with another daughter and she is the epitome of health, I had an all natural vbac with her, but I did labor for 3 days. So worth it though and so much better than a csection!

My first son (a single birth) was "sunny side up" during labor and I was intense pain because as he was moving into the birth canal his spine was against mine, luckily he didn't get stuck and last minute he turned faced down after 18 hours of labor. Hoping your labor and delivery with baby girl goes smoothly and you are able to have a natural labor and delivery with her.

Completely agree with you! In my country it is uncommon for women to give birth with any sorth of pain medication (I'm from the Netherlands). Women can give birth at their homes as long as the pregnancy is progressing well. I'm a twinmom of two year old girls. I've had a c-section at 33 weeks (pre-eclampsia). The recovery time is a lot longer. I will be praying for a save and smooth delivery for your sweet little girl!!

My VBAC recovery was a million times easier then my cesarean recovery! The experience itself was a million times better, too! It's unfortunate, really, that we even have to advocate so much for a VBAC when the evidence and even ACOG recommendations clearly point to it being a safe and dare I say, ideal option for most. Shouldn't it be the default plan unless something comes up that would make it unsafe (like placenta previa or breech presentation) or the patient specifically requests an RCS?

I think I left the comment before that I had written the article for Mama Natural on VBAC. What prompted me to write that was my attempted VBAC after 2 previous cesareans. I had an emergency c-section with my first child, and I unfortunately was not educated enough to know about VBAC (and this was back in 2009 when I did not have as much access to research materials as I do now!). I *could* have had a VBAC, as I went into labor on my own at 36 weeks and she was tiny! I understood my choices more acutely the third time around. Unfortunately, despite all of the research indicating that a VBAC after 2 cesareans is far preferable to having subsequent abdominal surgeries, I was bullied by both doctors and nurses when I arrived at the hospital in labor with my third child. I won't get into the specifics, but I did end up with a 3rd cesarean. All of the "what ifs" that could happen after a third surgery DID happen to me - I hemorraged, I had 4 blood transfusions, I had a huge hematoma, I had a vaginal and uterine infection, and my scar wouldn't heal. I really appreciate all of the research you have done and all of the self-advocacy you have done to fight for your VBAC! It truly is what is best for body, if of course conditions allow for it. I'm proud of you!

I would really love to see your research that you collected to present to your doctor. I'm also trying for a vbac, and I'd love to bolster my collection of research so that I can also advocate for myself when I need to. Though I will say... I am not quite the "ideal candidate" as you described yourself to be, as my labor had not become fully active by the time I hit 42 weeks. I would perhaps be more careful in the future about emphasizing how "ideal" you are, as it felt rather discouraging to me, given that my first birth experience was not as idyllic as yours.

Congrats on getting approved for a VBAC! I'm planning to do a natural birth too, and with no meds. My blood type is A- so I want to make sure my babies blood won't mix with mine. My symptoms this week was... - I became a bit emotional (baby blues) last night, so thankful my hubby was there to comfort me, though. -The past 4 days my nose bleed 3 times, throughout the whole pregnancy it only bleed once before that, very odd. -Heartburt has been my nemesis since the middle of 2nd trimester, however (knock on wood) it's been less firery this week.

NOTE: This may be a little long so I understand if Natalie can't get to it. If any other Moms have input PLEASE feel free to comment! 🙂 I'd love to hear your perspectives. Almost 34 weeks pregnant with my first and my birth plan is to go medication free. Luckily I've hired a Doula (who I LOVE) and my midwife is very supportive of position changes and other natural options for labor and delivery. My biggest question is who will be in the delivery room with you? The only issue I've run into is that my mother-in-law is offended that I don't want her in the room with me. She had an emergency c-section with her first followed by a scheduled c-section with her second (my husband). Also, she was present for both births of my sister-in-law's two children and convinced my sister-in-law to get an epidural both times even though she had stated before both births that she wanted to try to deliver without it. She isn't 100% supportive of my decision to go medication free and her main complaint is that it was such a special experience for her to see her other two grandchildren come into the world and she wanted to keep up the tradition. She can also be a little judgmental and I fear that her open opinions about whatever noises I make, and me changing positions whenever I want, will effect my ability to progress and have a calm labor. My local hospital only allows 3 "birth supporters" in the room at a time and I'd prefer they be my Doula, my husband, and my mother who has successfully delivered naturally and will know how to help me cope. My mother-in-law seems to care very little about how comfortable I am and is more concerned with how she feels and what she wants. How in the world do I convey to her that I'm not trying to offend anyone by making positive decisions for my own comfort without ruining our relationship? I'm brand new to this so I don't know how this will play out and I really want to be in a judgement free environment with people that support my birth plan. Anyone else struggled with this with a family member? How did you handle it?

Lindsey Bro Mo this is YOUR birth. I fully believe choosing the right people to support you effects the outcome of not only your labor and delivery but also your postpartum. If your hospital only allows three and you want hubby, Doula and mom with you then you kindly tell your mother in law that you already have your birth team and she is welcome to wait in the waiting room. (if that's what you desire) You have to only worry about yourself and baby and not worry about feelings of others. This is YOUR birth and you know what's best for your birth. Much love to you in welcoming your precious babe earth side.

Lindsey Bro Mo you have to make this choice for you what makes you feel the most comfortable because labor and delivery is so raw, so not polite and pretty and you need people that you love and that support you a hundred percent. My mother in law stayed in the waiting room while I delivered my first baby and it was great! I wouldn't have felt comfortable with her there even though we do have a good relationship. Just don't feel obligated, do what you want!! This is a huge time of your life and you don't want to feel inhibited in any way.

Natalie i wish you the best with your vbac!! Hope everything goes smoothly with baby girl. I was wondering if you ever thought about delaying cord clamping? I have done some research and I'm honestly amazed with the benefits, maybe you never hear about it but it's as simple as letting the baby attached to the placenta for a little longer so that they can get more blood flowing in their little bodies, I don't wanna make this even longer but if you are interested, research! It's something so simple but sadly not so many moms do it.Anyways I truly wish you and your family the best 💕💕💕

Hey Nat it's Theresa. When my oldest was born, she was all tangled up in the cord and I had to have a C- section. she was wide awake and didn't cry at her delivery. I was told that they were not sure I could do a vbac, but I did have my youngest that way, poor me had to be clipped to be able to get her big head to pass through. I had lots of medication due to back injury in the first birth but only once with the youngest. As you know my gals are 21 and 18, Where Danielle came out nice and calm, caitie came out screaming her head off and covered in her own poop, I know kind of gross, but that is how she came. We were scared, by the fact that with her screaming she may have breathed in some, she was fine. I mean she screamed from the moment her head came out.and didn't stop till the nurse washed her off, she hates getting muddy it think she may feel it is due to her issues at birth. I am amazed that your births were so different , your a rock star.

I wonder if all of the pineapple is what is causing your contractions? they actually recommend pineapple to induce labor.

Even though pineapple is one of my favorite foods and it sounds so refreshing it's pretty expensive this time of the year and hasn't made it into our groceries for a while. So I really haven't been eating it regularly at all!

How times change I 3rd pregnancy ending up in c section meant that my 4th pregnancy was almost a no option scenario however if I had had the choice I would much have preferred a vaginal delivery thankfully all went well. And I'm sure that you will have a great delivery. I smiled when you said you'd go for 43 weeks. , if I'd not been induced I'd probably still be pregnant 32 years later lol. Apparently I don't have the whatever it is that makes your body go into labour naturally. I'm so excited to meet your baby.

With my first I had a c-section, it wasn't what I wanted but the baby was breech and my blood pressure was really high. I wanted a vaginal birth with my first but because she was breech I didn't want to put her in distress and end up needing an emergency section. But with my second pregnancy(another girl😍) I knew I wanted to try for a vbac. My doctor wasn't thrilled with the idea and tried telling me all of the negative things that might happen but I knew I wanted to try for a vbac and I got it too. I did have an epidural. I'll be 11 weeks with my 3rd(hoping for a boy this time, lol) on Sunday and I'm hoping for another vaginal delivery. I've already told my doctor and she is fine with it. Plus, I knew that if my mom could have 2 c-sections and then have 5 vaginal deliveries and 4 being at home and that was from the mid-80s to early 2000s and they go just fine then I knew I can have a vbac in this day and time.
