My mom grew up in San pedro she graduated 1970 winter and my grandfather had his own store alma pharmacy

I grew up a few blocks from that pharmacy. As a teenager I worked at the bakery a couple of doors down from Alma Pharmacy.

started with Trump golf course on fragile bluffs near Pt. Fermin. I hear it's failing. Hope it can be added to coastal park system. Had friends whose home fell into the sea at Portuguese Bend! Many great times at Pt. Fermin, Averill Park and Peck Park. Wayfarer's was designed by Lloyd Wright, Frank's son. Shot of a class at SPH and the teacher was the beloved Senor Leon, my Spanish teacher. Wonderful man!

@@theanimaldebtprojectllc.8928 the homeless are thee major "hurtle" nowadays. You cant go 1/4 mile without seeing one or two. bonellos pizza on 7th and gaffey is still there. The democrats are clearly in control and it shows. You cant blame the downfall and collapse here on the GOP. I did put up a video of the USS Iowa coming in at 22nd and miner st. The old bakery on north gaffey is now a target. The ports of call village is flattened and the new San Pedro Marketplace is being built as we speak. need any questions answered ,I'll be here. And yes The Warner Grand Theater is still here on 6th st. Sunkin city is still the hip place for druggies and partyers

It was a tragedy that historic Beacon Street was demolished. True Pedro history. Upper 6th Street and Pacific Ave. came much later. Glad the Warner's is still around. Saw many Saturday morning serials there. And, btw. The Pike was in Long Beach! Great place. Roller coaster out on pier was awesomely scary!

"Glass Church" a.k.a. The Wayfarer's Chapel is in Rancho Palos Verdes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. "Warner Brothers" a.k.a. The Warner Grand Theatre still going strong. Where the Drive-in was on N. Gaffey was a baseball field for DiCarlo Bakery and is now a Target.

I lived in San Pedro in 1965, 66, and 1967. I had 2 teenage girlfriends but I was too busy going to high school and working. I spent too much time cruising around in my 1956 Chevy car. Beautiful area and beaches within short driving distance. I miss those fun teenage years and my family, too.
