great video - I've got a question: I have quite the same task, but my "drop-button" is inside of a a panel which is inside of a tab-control inside the form.. just when dragging the file over the form/tab-control/panel the mousepointer changes to a prohibition sign - my question is if I Do have do declare the whole form/tab-control/panel as "allow drop"?

Its awesome you posted this, because I was just dabbling with drag & drop onto a DGV a couple weeks ago :P But dragging onto a button is a great idea. Very elegantly written code, thanks VB Toolbox!

+VB Toolbox Successful :P It also handled a file-transfer feature. However I took a some notes from this vid to make some improvements on my end ^.^ I didn't know about the FileInfo datatype, which makes things a lot easier!

Awesome video and tutorial.....It wouldn't work for me in Visual Studio 2019 .NET until I got out of ADMINISTRATION mode. Hope that helps someone else. You helped me solve a different drag n drop problem with your tutorial. Much appreciated. Thanks

Is there any way to drag and drop using a custom extension, say if there was no extension and you wanted to add one ?

+Buck Johnson I just tested this by creating a file with a .ZRG extension and it worked fine. The only problem I foresee is that if you do not have a default application set for the custom file type, the launcher won't know what program to open it with. Setting a default program for the file type is fairly easy in Windows.

OK! thanks, what i have is a complicated two solution advance methods of spellchecking project call NHunspell. that i wont to implement in some of my project that i am looking for programmers who could help to figure it out, i break it down and recreate it 7 times already and still cant figure it out.
