Focused ultrasound is an incisionless treatment for patients with movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and essential tremor. In this video, Ross Southers, the first person to have a focused ultrasound at VCU Health, shares his experience working with our neurosurgery team. Patients who come in for a focused ultrasound go home on the same day. The out-patient procedure happens over the course of several hours with a whole team of neurosurgeons and support staff.
