Snareline sample was actually the solo snare sound not the snare "Line" sound. You have to create system text, click the speaker thing, then select "Line - Sticks - Snares on"... which is super annoying

I went back and checked the file and you're totally right, thank you for pointing that out! I assumed that the instrument would default to "line" and that you'd have to specify for "solo," though evidently that isn't the case in MuseScore.

Overall Sound: VDL 10/10, MDL 7/10 Ease of Setup/Installation: MDL 10/10, VDL 0/10 (haven't tried the new VDL setup in MS4, so maybe it's easier to figure out)

In my opinion, the bass line and the cymbal sound the best, dynamics are still an issue in MS4 but other than that the way they sound is amazing. I think tenors and snares could use some work, snares especially during flams
@skittles.n.snares4 ай бұрын
Yeah the snares have by far the biggest disparity in sound, but those basses sound incredible.

Thank you so much for this video! I also know Muse released a VDL drumline sound for 10 dollars so I am very interested in trying that out too, as I much prefer the clarity you get there.

@@TylerDunphy glad you enjoyed! I am also very intrigued by the Muse Sounds version of VDL (especially because it’s 1/20th of the normal price). I was actually considering including it in this video, but I get an “unsupported region” message from Muse Hub about making purchases at the moment. Hopefully in the future I’ll be able to check it out and compare both VDLs!

Thanks for this! while i love that Muse sounds is trying to create alternatives to VDL i think this isn't quite there. The dynamics feel over-emphasized and the reverb behaves a little strange too which is not really what I desire out of playback. Still using MDL with MS 3...

In my opinion, Muse Drumline sounds the mist realistic and not so much like a music software program but more like how itd sound in person, VDL sounds amazinf but its too moduel robtic-y sounding. Both are amazing tools.
