And they use NO musical accompaniment either. Also unlike the Catholics, you won’t be ordained if you can’t sing. So I’m sure they have years of voice lessons. There is an ancient very famous school of chant in kyev that’s turns out the best male singers too.

As a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief your only Son was lifted up that he might draw the whole world to himself. Mr. Pasjukov and Mr.Miller will always be my favorite basso profondos Their singing reminds me of the singing of elder churchmen that I loved as extra "grandfathers": unmistakable masculinity and powerful, passionate sincerity, combined occasionally with touching signs of human imperfection. Thus I have grieved for Mr. Pasjukov with some of the feeling of loss I have felt for "singing grandfathers" who have passed... but this recording has brought me comfort. Thank you Nigel and Mr.Miller

I am really sorry for your loss George. I understand where you are coming from. We all deal with grief in our own way. When my mother passed away in 2008, I took to travelling to ease my soul. Miss her still after all these years. The pain of her passing has diminished, but her memory has not. I am sure you will find the strength you need, however hard it may be. And faith, too. What is considered basso profundo? These voice types are divided up by vocal range, tessitura, tone, volume, and even based off of famous Operatic roles. A Basso Profundo refers to the lowest Bass singer with at least a C2 on the bottom.

Is basso profundo similar to the Tibetan chant of "ohm?"
@SpectatorAlius4 жыл бұрын
@Pin Nip No. A Basso Profundo is just a bass with an unusually low lower range. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basso_profondo for definitions. And what he is singing here has *nothing* in common with the Tibetan chant, he is singing actual words of a prayer that God grant the departed eternal memory. The choir then simply repeats "Eternal memory" three times. This is done in every Orthodox Burial service or Requiem (Pannikhida).
